Honestly I have no clue why your system freezes when opening a video in Safari or during video editing in iMovie. On my system everything works flawless.. also video playback, editing, creation etc.

If I would be in your shows well, ....:lol::lol::lol: Fortunately, I am not ...:lol:;););)

Hey @kgp Thanks for the guide... I been playing with it for some days... helped me a lot....

My Geekbench scores still lower tan windows... in windows the processor is super fast around 45000. and in geekbench Mac after turning of xmp in clover... I got around 30.000, significantly faster tan my previous 21000 without nullpwermanagement kext.... 28000 with power management kext and xmp NO.

You have a way to squeeze more power from the processor?

thanks

1.) Please provide your Skylake-X/X299 System Specs in your profile or signature (mobo, cpu, gpu)!
2.) Did you try to enable ASUS MultiCore Enhancement?
3.) Did you try to enable Enhanced Intel Speed Step Technology?
4.) Did you properly configure XCPM?
5.) Do you have a sufficiently efficient CPU Waterblock to enable the latter BIOS features? Carefully watch the CPU temperatures!

This happens to me as well, so far I haven't been able to pinpoint it's cause.

Some background info I managed to gather: OsxAptioFix2Drv does not use relocation, as on modern systems that is not needed. However, it still needs a large enough block of memory under the first 4GB of your RAM. On my Asus Strix x299, with three pci cards installed, my first 4gb of memory was very fragmented, and OsxAptioFix2Drv could not allocate a sufficient block. I checked memmap in my uefi shell, and indeed, the biggest available block was smaller the sum of my loaded kexts.

I updated the bios on my motherboard, and after that, my memmap was a lot cleaner, with big 800mb+ available block. BUT even after this, sometimes I got the cannot allocate memory. My guess is that OsxAptioFix2Drv starts at an arbitrary point, not the beginning of the available memory, so it can still run out of memory if it starts too close to the end of the available block.

But, OsxAptioFix2Drv paired with slide=0 works for me, for the last 50+ boots since. There is a tutorial to calculate the slide variable here: https://github.com/wmchris/DellXPS15-9550-OSX/blob/master/Additional/slide_calc.md

Interestingly, after calculating, my result was indeed 0, so that's why I am sticking with it.

On the other hand, I might be totally wrong :)

I still notice from time to time runtime errors even with OsxAptioFix2Drv despite of slide=0! Of course not that frequent as in case of OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000.efi.. But I don't think that slide=0 improves anything honestly.. And the errors proof that memory relocations are not required on modern systems ??? ;)

Concerning your video problems, do you have Enhanced Intel Speed Step Technology enabled?

I stayed home today to play w/ my hack. A few things to note:

1. If I add FakeCPUID = 0x0506E4 to config.plist, the computer hangs on boot at ++++++++++++++++++++. I can leave the CPU Type = 0x0a05
2. Although I have native XCPM w/o a ssdt.aml to and kernel patches in config.plist, I get a slight improvement in benchmarks by adding them.
3. On my Gigabyte MB, if I don't set the Turbo Per Core Limit Control to Disabled or Manually set the Multiplier to the max boost (44) then my computer reboots on Gaussian Blur test in the upper cores.

Only thing that I haven't figured out is why my RAM keeps showing 2133 even though my XMP Profile is set at 3000.

Quick Question, I just ordered (like 5 minutes ago) the prime,7900x,memory to upgrade my current hack, on my old system i had been using full blown 2.5 portable SSD instead of a actual usb flash/thumb drive to create the "USB Installer", will that still work on this mobo if i get a thunderbolt/usb3 ssd?

I believe so. When you go to boot off that Portable SSD, you'll just want to insert it into the USB 3.1 ports.

1) 7900x cpu mobo ud4 x299 gigabyte 64 GB ram 2600 (still not recognized), wifi from and iMac trough PCI and 1070 evga
2) multicore ? is not present on gigabyte, I have the last bios f4, maybe it has other name?
3) Intel turbo boost yes, I have to check in the bios.
4) Yes I made all the guide.
5) I have en evo 212x its big. the case is small although is a raijintek thetis.

Thanks for your help
