Hello,

I successfully installed my first hackintosh configuration on High Sierra with the following components:
- Asrock Z270 Gaming-ITX/ac (with TB3 port)
- i7700K
- Samsung 960 Evo NVME

My UAD firewire card (with FW -> TB2 -> TB3 adapter) is not seen in the High Sierra system properties. The UAD panel does not see any card.

Is there a special procedure to activate the thunderbolt port on my motherboard ? Does anybody make UAD firewire card work on such a configuration ?

Thanks in advance for your help,
Jeff

I'm planning on a similar build, except to use an i7-7700 processor instead. Is there a functional difference, at least in regards to OS installation, that might cause it to fail? Or are they the same?

I didn't have to fake the CPU when I installed the hack. It was recognized directly as an iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017). The 2017 iMac is based on the 7700k. To my knowledge, the K is unlocked and can be overclocked. I think that they are the same underneath.

For your information, my TB3 works well. What I did :
- the cable was upside-down, I reversed the plug of the apple TB3 adapter
- I just enabled TB3 in bios with "no security".
- The UAD card is on before booting
- No Windows install, only High Sierra

My UAD satellite firewire now works perfectly on the Z270 gaming mini ITX TB3 port.

Jiaiffe, Great that you got the TB3 to work with your board.
I'm curios, did you try any other firewire devices?

I want to do a build with the same board, but i have a RME Fireface 800.

Thanks is advance!

I do not have any other firewire device in my config. For your info, I have got a rme fireface uc usb and It works well on my hackintosh.

Does the TB3 work at full bandwidth (40gb)?
