@Lancelot as you seem to be closest to making this work properly could you please explain what you have done so far to get an output on vga so that others can incorporate your work into their efforts please?
e.g.
Kext modifications (if any)
Dsdt modifications (if any) I know in the probook 6470m project one member added some dsdt edits for the ati card though it wasn't explained very well. http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?p=229642#p229642

Hopefully between all of us we can find a solution to making our cards work and maybe the method will be same between our systems as they're both HP.

My Envy 15 has the following outputs; internal display, HDMI, & DisplayPort.
The 6770M appears to be attempting to output to either a VGA or CRT monitor by default - this is likely a result of the Chameleon Bootloader framebuffer injection. Not a big deal.
Haven't done any DSDT or kext mods for the ATI - that much is vanilla.
To get proper output configured, you'll need to gather your EDID information and from there I believe there are a number of approaches you can take; modifying your DSDT, modifying the ATI6000 kext, or even modifying your extracted ATI ROM.
Haven't done any of this yet as it's not high on my priority list - at this time (when I get around to it) my priorities are to configure two different DSDT files and to select between them at boot time to engage either card.
This just came to mind, but what if we used the dual link patch on the ATI card? This seemed to work on the HD3000 and was what allowed full QE/CI and 1080P. Just thinking aloud. Keep the dialog going guys and I'll chime in when I have more to share.

Cheers

hi i have similar laptop as u have

my laptop is hp dv6-6121tx please tell me how to get a working lion on it

need:
-Unibeast
-10.7.4 combo update
-this pack: http://www.mediafire.com/?6aid16ijbvfvvdi *Do not use SSDT in my Extra folder (do not know your processor!)
-Chimera
-Show All Files

Installs Lion,
run "Show all Files.app" then make file visible,
istall updateCombo 10.7.4 but not REEBOOT!
After update, replace all the kext in SLE, mach_kernel and *Extras folder in Lion root.
Install Chimera.pkg
Repair permission and rebuild cache using kext Utility

Important to do everything without rebooting :D

....then we see better

Discrete video card Never work with bios insydeH20!!!!!

Will Works only if HP decides to release the video options (Disable integrate Video Card) in new bios!!!!

Hi MacMan,

I tried hard to work my HD6770m.

In Chimera 1.8 there should be this:
{ 0x6740, 0x1631103C, CHIP_FAMILY_TURKS, "AMD FirePro M5950", kNull },
{ 0x6740, 0x3388103C, CHIP_FAMILY_TURKS, "AMD Radeon HD 6770M", kNull },

My bdmesg shows this:
AMD Radeon HD Series 6700m 4095MB [1002:6740] (subsys [103c: 3389]) (Turks) :: PciRoot (0x0) / Pci (0x1, 0x0) / Pci (0x0, 0x0)
My video card should be Hydrilla parent as mentioned here:

http://forum.netkas.org/index.php/topic,853.0.html

But I can not know now what personalities could work :?:

Is there much difference in the sub-system id and the Framebuffer.
I do not go well even CHIP_FAMILY_TURKS, which should be Whistler-XT
I do not know what is "Turks" .......

I do not know if what I said is totally right,
and hope you putting my right data on the next CHIMERA

Thanks in advance

Follow the Clover guide linked from the FAQ.
http://www.tonymacx86.com/el-capita...faq-read-first-laptop-frequent-questions.html

Although you should read the FAQ for an overview of issues, the Clover guide is linked from the first question: "Q. Where do I start?", just after the bold face "Clover Guide".
Here is a direct link, just to be clear:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/

Also, your profile must be filled out with complete details as requested in the FAQ, again under "Q. Where do I start?". All seven details requested are equally important.

And if you have an issue (after following the guide), or on any other problem, you must provide a detailed description of the problem including information that helps us understand what you're doing. Always attach "Problem Reporting" files as per FAQ.
http://www.tonymacx86.com/el-capita...faq-read-first-laptop-frequent-questions.html
The required files and data are fully detailed in the last question in the FAQ:
"Q. What are typical "Problem Reporting" files?"
