Next we unmount all volumes on the USB key with:
sudo diskutility unmountdisk /dev/disk1

I kept getting the error "diskutility command not found" at this point so I followed this guys tutorial. http://www.amsys.co.uk/2014/blog/disk-utility-tip-fix-couldnt-unmount-disk-errors/#.VHttbday7Dm

and unmounted my USB with this command, "sudo diskutil unmount force /dev/diskxsy" where ‘x’ is your disk identifier and ‘y’ is your volume identifier, (remember to use the ‘diskutil list’ command if you need to find out your disk and volume identifiers).

Thanks!

Somebody could confirm this board works with El Capitan?

I need to change my 1155 board from ATX to MicroATX and i would like one supporting SLI for dual boot with Windowz and this one seems one of the few having it.

Affectionately yours, Bilbo

I have this board and installed sierra, the only issue i found was i would lose audio after i woke it from sleep. everything else is good. i have a crappy i5 2400s on the board with a 1070. im gonna upgrade it to either 3470 or a 3770k.

I have been running 10.11.6 on this revision 1.3 board with version F8 bios and an i5 2500k processor for quite some time. The only problem is that the HD 3000 graphics is a little bit buggy. Now that I found this thread I think I will update to the UEFI bios and change over to a third-generation processor. There was a link at the beginning of this thread that was supposed point to a how-to for the uefi update, but it doesn't seem to be working. Where do I start? I don't have windows.

So I think I have figured out how to proceed. I have made up a bootable USB stick with FreeDOS and confirmed that it works. I have placed the Gigabyte .EXE file for the BIOS on the USB as well. Now I just have to figure out what will happen to my current installation under the new BIOS. Will I have to start out with with a new install, or will my old setup, with my apps and files just work straight away.

I finally got the bios updated. I ended up using Windows 7 to make a DOS USB flash drive to do the job. I got the installer made and installed 10.13.1 on my SSD. Now I am only able to boot the SSD with the installer.

For a while this morning this computer could not see the SSD or the USB installer, but after giving it a rest for an hour it sees them again. It's not the first time that's happened.
