Clover crashing on 'scanning entries' because of software RAID

Make sure you’re using hfsplus.efi driver in clover rather than the vbox one. I had the same behavior when accidentally using the vbox driver and found each clover update will reinstall it again.

Great, will give that a shot - so, to be clear, in your EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI, you have HFSPlus.efi, but not VBoxHFs-64.efi?

Exactly, as an extra benefit hfsplus, efi should actually eliminate your need to disable, hide, modify the scanning rules all together

Brilliant - that got me sorted. Thanks much! @Apples2Oranges , it might be worth updating your instruction post with that, to un-stick future people if you have a moment!

Hallo!

I recently installed SoftRaid and also found issues with the scanning entries. and if I unplug the "dodgy" drive, it boots up fine.
I have made the changes to config.plst, but I'm either being a nub(which is likely) or I need to add an entry for each drive.
If I check my bootlog it reads each of those drives as Legacy? which is weird. could it be SoftRaid doing that?

Herewith my files, any advice and pointing out my mistakes will help.

Thanks in advance!

No need to worry about your config settings and I’m using softraid with no issue. Every time you install or upgrade clover it will replace the hfsplus.efi file in your drivers folder with vboxhfs-64.efi. Download the hfsplus.efi driver (linked in earlier comments) and put it back. Make sure you delete the vbox version..

Thank you very much for this, and apologies for not responding sooner. it worked perfectly 1st time around, delete hfsplus.efi, copy vboxhfs-64.efi and poof, works beautifully!

So is this the final solution? Simply replace the vboxhfs-64.efi with hfsplus.efi driver? Or is there more to do, like turning off the scanning and specifying what drives to use?

I'm not testing it on my own because I have mission critical work I am doing and don't want to mess things up by accident.

Another concern I have is that I have a back up drive on USB 3 external that I can boot if I get into trouble or delete something on my main drive by accident - and I don't want to exclude that drive.

Be great to have a full explanation all in one post that includes the driver replacement step.

You guys are awesome!

I've already done this... Is there something else I need to provide? Have people seen my post?
