Hi,
I am a professional Editor working with media house currently, and I am planing to setup my own RIG at my house for Video & Audio editing purpose for professional output such as short films and television commercials. My requirement is using software like Final Cut Pro 7, Adobe Premiere Pro CC, After Effects, Photoshop, Davinci Resolve and Avid Media Composer.
I am almost on the verge of picking Apple iMac 2017 27inch model which will cost me around $3120. In that I will be getting i5, 8GB RAM and the Radeon Pro 580 with 8GB VRAM. I am using original Apple iMac at work for 6 years now, and I love the productivity aspect of the environment over the Windows environment; I am really use it now.
Now coming to my real ISSUE. I am super confused as to should I be spending so much money and just buying the iMac from Apple or build a reliable hackintosh with that kind of money? I had built a hackintosh 6 years back on my windows machine and not everything was smooth but then I've heard and seen lot of videos recently where people have shown impeccable performance benchmarks and reliability with new builds. You guys are the best way to clear this block from my head and hence I decided to post it here. Fingers crossed.
