Actually, I have both. But the result is the same, I can boot and install Sierra from USB and fail to boot from SSD or NVMe. I will try to follow your guide next Monday.
I completely agree with your assertion that most people blindly follow blinds (including myself, of course). And next Monday, again, I will blindly try to follow your guide for you didn't explain "why this, or why that". Anyway, thanks a lot.

Ha ha... :) thanks man! I see your point, but at least I made it easy ;)
I'll be making an in depth tutorial when I'm sure of all the settings myself.

Are you going to try the guide provided by thealika?
Maybe it will be wise to wait a little and just go with 10.12.6 which was just released... Ill be making a guide/files this week.

Hi thealika. Used your guide yesterday and yes, it works. Thanks a lot. One question though...Your Clover stops and doesn't load OS X till you hit the return, despite "timeout" set to 3 sec in the config.plist.

Thank you.

You got to either name your HD the same name as his or edit config.plist and put your HD name
Thank you, I already figured it out - changed the default HD my HD name.

So how would one go about updating their currently working 10.12.5 system (set up using this guide) to 10.12.6?

I updated no problem through Apple Store. Didn't do any tuning after that. My mobo is on the bench and audio is not connected and presently I am in airport. In two weeks will continue - will try to remove CPU spoofing.

I can confirm that updating goes smooth, just update and it will work as before!
I used the 10.12.6 Combo Update

You no longer need:
FakeCPUID nor FAKEPCIID.kext (KabyLake is now supported)
IONVMeFamily patches for the m.2 (also natively supported)
I changed IntelGFX to 0x59128086 and ig-platform-id to 0x59120000 also Removed APPL,Gfx,YTile property under Devices, as per LINK
It is also possible to tell your SMBIOS you are in iMac18.3 and it will now actually boot with those parameters ;)

This is going to make any new build so much more easier!!
So, everything works so far... I'm still testing though..
