Hi All,

Started to update 10.12.5 to 10.13. beta 2

I'm able to install ok with clover as before. However, on boot have AppleACPIPLatform error.

Attached pic shows additional details of kernel panic.

Verbose mode makes specific mention of "com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform(6.1). Perhaps MacPro6.1 system definition in SMBIOS??

Tried before with 5.1 MacPro system definition as well with no luck, and similar errors.

Any Thoughts?

Grateful for your input in advance!

Hi All,

Just an update on this from PikeRAlpha (All credit and thanks go to him!!):

The OSBundleLibraries in AppleSMC.kext has changed. This one is new:

1
2
<key>com.apple.driver.AppleSMC</key>
<string>3.1.9</string>
AppleACHIPlatform.kext now also relies on:

1
2
<key>com.apple.driver.AppleSMCRTC</key>
<string>1.0</string>
I’m not saying that this is the case, but if AppleSMCRTC.kext isn’t loading (IONameMatch -> ACPI000E) then AppleSMC.kext may not get loaded (IONameMatch -> APP0001) and then AppleACHIPlatform.kext may also fail.

We now also have a new property called IOPlatformPanicAction (Number) 89000 and that may also be related.

The only time that I had issues with AppleACHIPlatform.kext was when AppleSMCRTC.kext wasn’t loaded. And then only without a prelinkedkernel.
"

Hope it helps someone.

Please provide the link to Pike's quote above. I went to find it, but couldn't locate it.

Have you updated clover? Apparently some of the guys over at insanely Mac have gotten high Sierra to work.
