My Sierra install has been working fine for months and a few days ago i was away from the computer and it wouldn't boot next time. Removing InjectIntel allowed me to boot but the graphics were messed up. I was advised to check if kexts were removed by an update, they were there but i replaced one of them while checking and it gave me "The system extension kext #kextname# was installed improperly.. " and after that i started getting busy timeout[0], (60s), kextd wait(0): 'AppleACPICPU'
and gets stuck on gIOScreenLockState 3, hs 0, bs 0, now 0, sm 0x0 with or without InjectIntel so i can not boot at all.

I accessed the drive and got some projects out using a virtual machine, so i may be able to temper with some of the files if needed. Any suggestions that would allow me to boot without reinstalling it?

P.S I also notice that the screen goes black right after 10 minutes, as the default monitor sleep time.

Did you ever come up with a solution? Same problem. Computer was left on all night and now I have busy timeout followed go gIOScreenLockState. I've hunted around here but so far, no luck. Any suggestions?
