[fixed the issue with crashing]
It was going so well...4k resolution (30hz) over HDMI, i7-7700k at 5ghz, Sound over HDMI, Z270X Motherboard...all I wanted was to get the USB3 going, maybe they were but my attempts to plug in external USB drives were not working.

I used MultiBeast and added 7/8/9 Series USB Support and Increase Max Port Limit 200 Series and rebooted...and haven't been able to get booted again. If I boot to the external USB it runs the installer again. If I boot to internal HFS it freezes. I'm stuck and can't get unstuck again. I'd like to boot off USB then just remove those .kext I added. but how?

Here's a screen shot of verbose boot where it freezes.

Long term use of the port limit patch not recommended.
Use only for port discovery.
See guide:

I hear you...working on it. A) I installed from scratch again on another SSD ( I have 2 installed). B) Then using the 2nd install went and deleted the new .kext, no idea which it was but I got back into the orig. install Disk again (i.e. Booted i). I can't get any External USB Hard Drives to mount or be seen I'm stuck in the USB3 enabling info. Not sure if I should abandon hope or not there's at least 3 pages that are links to each other. Each says you should first read the info on the link and if you click it's really confusing which comes first.
I do see this: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-10-11-usb-changes-and-solutions.173616/
Which regarding me says: "This guide is for Intel USB3. Third party USB3 such as Asmedia, NEC/Renasas are problematic. "
Because I have: AORUS Z270X-GAMING K7 Motherboard with USB: "Chipset+ASMedia® ASM2142 USB 3.1 Gen 2 Controller"
[Edit] The USB is working just not at 3.0 speeds. I just in MultiBeast checked to add the 3rd party USB and so far that's work. Copying files from an external USB 3 HD to an internal SATA one Activity Monitor says Data Read/sec is 51.7 MB and Writes are 35.5 MB.

Now onto iMessage.

So, I guess the good news is I am back at it. Learning a lot but not sure if I should keep trying to get USB3 working. I also noticed other things not enabled. But it's cool to have the i7-7700k going at 5ghz and stable as can be. The Motherboard made it as simple as a single selection to overclock the 4.2ghz chip to 5ghz. Blazing fast performance...which is exactly why I started this build. This is going to be my video editing system.

OUCH!!!
Ok, so I was following the Idiots Guide to iMessage. Seems harmless enough. I used Clover Config and got the serials and verified it was an unregistered one...added UUID generated. Then clicked Save in CloverConfig and it asked me a very important question...which apparently I answered Incorrectly and like in Indiana Jones I chose unwisely and my Hackintosh is Dead. like really dead where Clover Boot Menu is in weird Colors and I get a circle with a slash through it not an Apple Logo. Nice.
It just went downhill from there.
I can't get past the weird two color EFI Clover menu now that I can't even read because the colors are off.
Idiot guide or not it should have a huge warning saying what to do when you go to save your config in clover configurator and the different options and consequences of each...for idiots like me.

[UPDATE] I am back in, not fixed, just able to boot OSX on the orig. install drive and dig around to see what happened now. How? By just trial and error I found in the Boot Options System Options and if you uncheck load untrusted kext you essentially disable a lot of things as that allowed me to boot the "Sierra" drive..just without the extras.

Man what a lifesaver that is. If this were my site I'd make that a sticky. All the hail mary boot options for right after you add a .kext that panics your boot. Maybe it's there on the first page or something but I didn't see it.

[additional info]: This is a really GTK thing: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/solved-restore-clover-efi-partition-from-backup.214062/

I can't stress how much time I would have saved if I just .zipped the whole EFI partition and copied just the config.plist to the Installer USB drive before running MultiBeast and|or CloverConfig or making edits to the config.plist. Being able to restore EFI changes would have saved me so many hours, maybe days. I learned the hard way.

Also, IMHO, best thing I did was put two drives in that I installed OSX on. This way when I break the first I install again "Vanilla" to the 2nd and when that is running I can go back and "fix" the first one. Saved me now 4x at least.
