Im surprised that HP has added the CPU support for a i7 3770 that chip seems to be a little hungry for this kind of machine. If i was going to get one id probably just put a i3 3225 in it with 8GB of RAM for a media centre machine running Kodi or running macOS for movies etc in the TV Cabinet  It is a very nice machine/

You're right, these only shipped with the I7-3770S and not the 3770. The "S" version is clocked lower to produce less heat.

Does Wifi work out of the box, or are you using a USB dongle? if you're using a USB dongle, does it work after sleep? thanks.

None of these come with a Wifi card pre-installed. You have to find a compatible one that will fit in the mini PCI-e slot.

In the photo linked below you can see the slot (black) for the wifi card in the upper right corner of the motherboard.

I rarely ever use USB wifi, only as a last resort when there are no other options.

Oh well. Ended up buying a 6300 SFF instead of the USFF. It came with an i5 3470 8gb of ram and 1tb drive. Also bought an i5 3475s to replace it and use the intel HD 4000 graphics. Bought the TP Link WDN4800 & The IO gear USB bluetooth. Once I sell the i5 3470, I'll have a machine that's better than my current Mac Mini for less than $250 haha.

That's what it's all about. Saving money and getting a much more powerful system that can be easily upgraded later on if need be. Nice work Julio !

I also have had the HP 8300 USDT itch. Had Ebay lucky with offer options, low ball negotiations for 50 bucks all said and done. Heres my rundown on stuff,
HP 8300 USDT - WIFI and Msata option boards
I3 3220 - 4 GB memory - Power supply = 50 shipped

Picked up I5 3475s for HD4000 support =50 shipped
Old Mechanical Sata drive Laying around
BCM94360HMB/AzureWave AW-CB160H Half Mini PCI
AC1300 / BT 4.0 = in progress

Are front and back Noctua Fans worth it?

Any Advice?
