Hello, I'm new to the forum but reading it since years now.
I always wanted to build a hackintosh but most of the time I got really good deals on used Macbooks.
Now I'm at the point where I sold my recent Macbook and I got a Optiplex 790 form a IT friend of mine who told me I could try a hack with the Dell.
It's a i3 Version but I got a i5 too which I want to hack after I'll be successful with the i3.
I do know it's an old machine but I want to get myself a bit of knowledge and try it first with stuff that I have free at hand before I spend 1500-2000k for a high-end build.

So my question is: Is it possible to install Sierra on it? I do have a ready Unibeast USB3 Stick ready with Sierra that I made before I sold my Macbook.

I'm at the point of Bios setup, are there experienced people here with the 790?
The problem I'm facing is that the USB is not found so I can't boot from it. It shows me the USB Device but not the Stick itself so I can just select the device but nothing is happening for an hour. I tried all other ports but nothing changes.

edit: thanks to the admin for moving my thread to the proper forum and pardon me for my wrongdoing.

Hello, I have an Optiplex 790 running Sierra.

The video and audio on the 790 isn't native. I picked up an nvidia 710 low profile card for $26 and a USB Sound card for $6.

You need to set the BIOS Boot sequence to legacy mode and uncheck "enable VT for direct I/O" under Viurtualization.

unibeast drive needs to be setup to legacy as well. I had to create my USB stick I think 3 times before I got it working. More than likely you didn't format the USB stick correctly.
