Well the system works great, but I haven't been able to cure the no audio problem. According to Dell's website, the audio chip is a Realtek ALC3600. Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks,

Jim, AB0EZ

Please put your specific motherboard model (or Dell system model), CPU model, and GPU model into the system configuration area on the left and/or your signature. It's a lot easier to give you good advice with this information always at hand.

I'm not familiar with that audio chip; you might get better results asking in the Audio forum.

Thanks for the reply! I'm running an Nvidia 9500GT card with dual DVI ports and 1GB of RAM. That part works flawlessly. The CPU is an i5-4460. I looked on the mobo, but no obvious sign of who made it. Maybe I just need to buy a PCIEX1 audio card or a USB audio card or????

BTW, I have a couple of Hackintosh PCs.

Ok, after searching for two hours, the audio chipset is really an ALC662VD! Now I just have to figure out how to make it work.

Problem solved! I forgot all about an old USB Soundblaster SB 0270 I had. I plugged it into a USB port and Viola! Instant audio and it even sounds pretty good on high rez wav audio files.

Well for all those who had this problem, I followed this guide :

https://www.******.com/r/hackintosh/comments/4sil5p/audio_mechanic_old_patchfix_removal_applealc/

Installed Lilu and AppleALC in EFI/Clover/Extensions/Other set the Devices key at 5 in Clover's config.plist and now I've got sound !
