[SOLVED] Urgent question: Starting up on its own

Try something simple like taking your ram out of your system, make sure you unplug your computer or turn off the switch and wait a while before removing. Also try one stick or 2 sticks of ram at a time. Also if you have windows unplug the osx partition and try to see if it's related to the disk some how. That way you know its a hardware or bios issue.

Hey there, thanks for your reply. I think I've found the culprit, and it's not ideal. The computer is plugged into the monitor via USB 3.0 in order to power the monitor's USB hub. Useful for mouse/keyboard etc. I think the screen was pulsing power back and turning the computer on. Seems to be solved when I remove that USB connection but I'll keep testing!

Glad to see you found the culprit...ya best way to troubleshoot is to eliminate variables as much as possible. I had restart issues back in the z68 days.

Good luck
