Projectors do not have HDMI audio codecs, TVs do.

So true!. That's why it bothers me. I have no idea why the "Projector: Samsung" persists. The Samsung HDTV that is being used has been attached to an older Mini-mac HTPC working fine prior to using it for the hackintosh build. I don't know where such a "video device setting" or preference would reside or how it could be changed or edited....., EDID?? Dunno.

Everything else seems in place and working. Any ideas on how to convince the hackintosh it's connected to an HDTV?:?::?::?::?:

Thanks.

PS: Sorry question "off-topic". Thanks again!!

WiFi uses x1 in the x16 slot???
The only reason to go x8 on graphics is with x4 on storage.
PEG1 experiment failed ...

I know it doesn't make much sense, but it's the only place that fits... What should I do if "peg1 experiment failed"? Sorry if I should know, it's my first hackintosh, I learnt a lot these past few days!
Thanks for the quick answers by the way!

How did you decide that was the problem?

Re-running the HDMI audio installation process from scratch. Using NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1080 on 10.12.4. This is the terminal output of :"audio_cloverHDMI-120.command_v1.0d"

File: audio_cloverHDMI-120.command_v1.0d

Release Mode

EFI partition is mounted

HDMI audio codec(s)

Nvidia: 0x10de0083

Integrated Graphics is not installed/enabled

Install AMD/Nvidia HDMI audio (y/n): y

Current Nvidia web driver driver does not support HDMI audio on the HDMI port; use DP to HDMI adapter until Nvidia fixes the driver.
thank you for this information, so I can stop to try vary methods.

Hi, after some tinkering and losing one fan, I installed the graphic card in the x16 slot. Running audio_cloverhdmi-120 installs
SSDT-HDMI-NVIDIA-PEG0 in the ACPI/patched folder as expected. However, still no audio through the display port after restart. I have a feeling the key is in Toleda's comment "peg1 experiment failed" (when the graphic card was installed in the x8 slot), but a search on the forum brought no result as to what it meant. Here are the new files with the graphic card in the x16 slot, if anyone can help pointing me in the right direction. Thanks!

Having trouble with HDMI audio since installing new Nvidia 10 series.

I replaced my 970 with a 1070. I had been using the latest 10.12.4 Webdrives. It booted right in everything was great but HDMI audio no longer worked. Removed SSDT for HDMI audio, rebooted, mounted EFI and used the 120-command script. Created an SSDT in ACPI/Patched. Rebooted still no audio. I think these are the files you need for submitting a problem. Thank you.

EDIT removed files and found

"Current Nvidia web driver driver does not support HDMI audio on the HDMI port; use DP to HDMI adapter until Nvidia fixes the driver."
