Use Clover Configurator or download EFI Mounter v3 and mount your EFI partition.

At the Clover Boot Screen press the space bar and select Set Nvidia to VESA (nv_disable=1)

BREBO - Set Nvidia to VESA (nv_disable=1) - I tried this and at the apple logo around 65% I loose the screen to black still. I press the eject key though, the cd tray does open.

I have actually same board Z170X-UD5-TH but only with i7-7700k with patched Samsung m.2 960 pro on board,
long story about black screen, but for me also NOT working internal graphics I have tried many different method but without success
I would like to ask you guys, if anyone has same hardware setup with working internal graphic please share it?
By the way here is my topic maybe for someone it will be useful

Lordstar - your MB is the TH or thunderbolt version - mine is not. Also I believe your 7700K is Kabylake whereas mine is Skylake.
