Hello,

New to the site and haven't built a Hackintosh yet.

Has anyone successfully built a machine that satisfies the recommendations of Solidworks on a graphics card and works with running OSX on the same machine?

I haven't compiled a final parts list yet, so I am open to recommendations.

Thanks,

Build a Customac Pro ATX with an nVidia Quadro FX 4800 (PNY makes a MAC version and you can use it, but it is twice the cost of the retail street version)
Download and install the nVidia 331.82 driver for Win7 or Win8.1
Download and install the nVidia 331.01 driver for Mavericks

Happy CADding.

Very helpful

So question please, how'd this work for you? I'm curious and I'm in the market. Currently I'm laid up with a broken pelvis and need a hobby. I'd like to put together as machine that will boot 1) Sierra, 2) win 8.1, 3) win 10, and 4) Ubuntu. I do solid works and need to run both versions of Windows for new and old Solid Works. I'd use a laptop or a tower.

Please tell me or this is stupid and I'll just get an off the shelf unit with xenon's for the SolidWorks, and then a laptop that will do Sierra and Windows.
Thanks a lot. I've got four more surgeries and I could use some direction.
Regards,
Tommy
