The MPG or Mac Pro Gaming rig makes it's debut !
After a 3 year, 5 month wait the cylinder Mac Pro gets a refresh with Broadwell E chips / X99 chipset. Lower prices too that are competitive with the price / performance of Ryzen 7 chips. The Mac Pro will simply die out if they don't do something dramatic to spark interest in it. Dual Vega GPUs that don't suck for gaming and a base price around 2000 dollars for an I7-6800K version with 16 GB of ram and these would actually sell. Boot camp allows the install of Win10 for those that want that. Gaming is where all the money is today. Why can't Apple enter that market and be a player ? Who wants to have better gaming on their iPhone than their MP desktop anyway ? You would still be able to use this for FCP X video editing with no problem at all. This would give loyal Mac / Apple customers everything they could want in a small, quiet, energy efficient yet powerful Mac desktop. Will this ever happen ? When I look at Apple's offerings under Cook the last 4 years, probably not.
