[SOLVED] macOS Sierra Installation stuck

Status
Not open for further replies.
The current text you have shown above does not seem to be related to the previously posted
NTFS volume name TOSHIBA EXT, version 3.1 .
NTFS-fs warning (device /dev/disk17s1, pid 463): ntfs_system_inodes_get(): $LogFile is not clean. Will not be able to remount read-write. Mount in WIndows.
that was related to your Windows disks. The current one is a warning. You need to wait a bit longer watching the LEDs flashing from the Installer USB and or the HDD LED on the computer case to determine if the system is hanging or reading /writing to disks. The above text seems to be related to your Network (probably Ethernet card). I will let it go on for ~10 minutes before considering boot freeze.

As I wrote on a post.. I tried to let it for 1h+ and nothing changed.
The USB has no LED to check if it is working. xD

With all the information provided so far, the only logical inference would be to consider a problem with the USB Installer.
Your BIOS setup seems to be OK as the installer could reach the Clover Boot Manager screen and start the booting process using whatever boot agrs:you have provided.

But the Sierra Installer USB gets arrested during the boot before it could reach the installation screen with no tell-tale error message to diagnose the problem.

At this stage, it is often due to the lack of a right kext in the kext folder (kext>10.12 or kext>Other or presence of a wrong kext there or the lack of Video kext in the /System/Library/Extensions folder of the USB installer to load to the RAM for the Graphic device selected at the outset in the BIOS >Peripherals.

The attached images are from my Sierra USB Installer showing Kext>other and /S/L/E used in my Gigabyte GA-H61M-HD2 and ATI-Radeon-5450 PCIE Graphics card choice. the Kexts >Other must be similar but in your case you should have Nvidia kexts if you are using your NVIDIA card or Intel HD kexts if you are using the integrated card.

Hope this will help you to decide whether you may want to create new USB Installer using Unibeast Method.

Your kext folder contents look OK to me.
See if your Installer will boot without caches by adding -f to the current boot flags including -v (verbose). If that dose not work try in safe mode (-x) added to current flags.

Nothing.
Everytime I get stucked with the:
Code:
iMac.local com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (org.ntp.sntp.149) <Warning>: Service exited with abnormal code: 1
(sometimes the number is 149, sometimes is 143)

The line above it, says:
Code:
Sound assertion in AppleHDADriver at line 1098

Which Args should I use (tell me the complete list)?

At this stage, I find no other choice but to create a New USB installer in a mac or hack with macOSSeierra Installer downloaded to the Applications Folder and using either Unibeast method or manually using the code: sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/USB --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app --nointeraction
and installing Clover to the USB installer and then installing Clover EFI boot loader in UEFI mode ( or legacy mode if you want that way for some reason) and editing the kext folders and config.plist to suit the installation.
Edited to include my Boot Args: for normally booting USB installer.

One more thing. If you have not loaded the latest FakeSMC.kext in the CLOVER>kext >10.12 /Other folder, get the latest from Tonymac download and install it there just to be sure a lack of the latest FakeSMC.kext is not the cause of your vexing boot problem

I changed USB and I used your Args (the args that you posted on the attached file), and now I can reach the installer.
I erased the HDD that I wanted to use for macOS Sierra.
After the installing process, it asks you to restart.
I restarted.
Then I came back to the USB Clover Boot and I started from "Boot from Sierra" (I named the HDD as Sierra).
It start loading until the grey screen comes out, and then when it comes out I get this:

APMUxcT.jpg

And it restarts the PC.
If I try to do it again, it restarts the PC again.

In Sierra , normally, after the initial 10-20 minutes of Installation (mainly copying of files from the USB Installer) starting from the time you click your Target HDD that has just been partitioned, formatted and renamed using Disk Utility and shown "customize" files to be installed and clicked Next, the System will reboot automatically; we have no manual input function. The system will continue installing for another 20-30 minutes until it reaches the screen for manual input at the "Region and Language" and "Time Zone selection screen" .........."Account Settings">>>> and finally at the "Desktop" >"Keyboard" type >Security & Privacy Selection to install software from "anywhere" and then >Multibeast all -in-one tool on System Disk or manual install of Clover EFI Bootloader as UEFI or Legacy +Kexts installation + System definition on the newly created Systen HDD.
Having said that, your current problem is a kernel panic from some USB ports.
I assume you have only the USB installer and there are no devices on any other USB ports. If there are devices REMOVE anything other than your USB Installer from USB ports.USB Installer must be on known functioning USB 2.0 port.

Make sure your BIOS options included XCHI and EHCI HandOffs as ENABLED
See if the Booting will continue through the "half-baked' Sierra System disk.
If it does not work, try Rebooting with your current working USB installer and start all over again.

The good thing is you now have a working Sierra USB Installer :)
