I added darkwake=0 to clover, and it seems to have done the trick. One other peculiar behavior is at the initial startup, the mouse cursor is not visible until I right click, and then the arrow shows up. Any explanation for this kind of behavior? Again, thanks for the great write up and build, I've been very happy with it up to this point.

20161216 - I updated to 10.12.2 today with no issues. Sleep, audio ect is all working
20161103 - I updated to 10.12.1 today with no issues. Sleep, audio ect is all working

I have been struggling to have the GTX 970 acx 2 working, tried all the combinations
This is my second Hackintosh and it's annoying that it doesn't work.
I think your guide may have some interesting things I can try (17,1 system def and remote into the machine with a blank screen).
will definitely give it a shot

Run AGDPfix.app with SIP disabled fix the "black screen after boot sequence" very easily on 12.3.
If you have some other problem check out this thread.

Oh man, that doesn't sound good. I was just thinking about updating to 32gb as I chew up 16gb pretty quickly these days. Please post if you find the cause/solutionGreat Build!!!
I follow extract the same build except I got 32Gb RAM (your build is 16Gb), same kind
Ballistix Elite DDR4 2666
MT/s (PC4-21300) DIMM 288-Pin
If I use 16Gb RAM, the Computer running great, 10.12.3, all features, components working perfect!
but if I throw another 16Gb to make 32Gb, the Computer won't even boost into BIOS.
It turns ON, then looping restart, no Video signal out and MOBO shows error code 55..
If anyone has the answer pls,

I asked my parts guy about advice on RAM and he told me that this MoBo is rated for 2400, so I got some Ballistic Sport DDR4-2400 and got 2x16GB modules.
It worked out of the box for me

I actually went to check on GigaByte's site and this board does indeed support faster memory.
I may have to slap my parts guy soon
