Can you SLI in Mac OSX?

I have not seen a guide for this or any support documentation.

If it is possible can you provide me some links please?

Thank you!

No, you can't SLI in macOS. I do however have an SLI bridge to use under Windows.

Certain apps under macOS such as Octane, FCPX and probably Davinci Resolve will use dual GPUs.

For a bit I took out the second GPU so I can watercool these guys in the next few weeks because they get too hot when they're close together (one of the downsides of mATX builds).

surely by now this thread has went way off topic?

I think people are looking for "solutions" right now since it's been 6 months since Pascal release.

I still have my GTX1080, but switched to a 980Ti for a while.

Lol yep. I wrote, then deleted a long-winded final comment for this thread about how disappointed I am, but figured... what's the point?

My solution is the same... throw a 980/980 Ti in a small build and leave it be until KNOWN compatible hardware comes along. I'm keeping my Hack and Win/Linux PC separate from now on.

As far as I am concerned - the wait is over.

I got a great bargain on my HD 7770 and got rid of it. My 1070 is cool and quiet and I am staying on Windows for the time being. If Pascal drivers are never to come about - so be it. Maybe I can switch to Vega if it ever gets supported - got my eye on a FreeSync monitor anyway - don't care about GSync enough to put 100 quid on top of the price.

I guess after 154 pages I'll still be checking in on the thread, but for now - OSX is on the shelf. .. literally - backed up on a drive on the shelf :D

Exactly what I did. Windows 10 and picked up an Oculus Rift to play around in the VR space. As much as I like OS X, I just don't have time to use old tech...

I was planning my first build for VR development and and after getting up to speed on the current state of things, it seemed my best choice was to get a 980 Ti, but I've decided to wait 4-6 weeks for a few things that might happen:

- 1080Ti is expected to be launched at CES in early January, this will possibly mean an influx of 980Ti appearing on the resale market and their price getting pushed down -- good because they are becoming increasingly hard to find at retail

- RX 490 will possibly be launched -- if rumours are to be believed this could compete with the 1080 (http://videocardz.com/64475/are-those-radeon-rx-490-vega10-benchmarks-results) and be compatible with macOS (http://videocardz.com/64622/amd-polaris-10-xt2-and-polaris-12-spotted-in-macos-drivers)

I know it's just rumours, but at this point I might as well wait a few weeks to see if they pan out.

1080Ti competes directly with the 980Ti, but Pascal's biggest feature is wattage and some efficient technologies. It's not THAT big of a jump from Maxwell, but still a great card. The thing doesn't even get hot at all during intense GPU usage. Those graphs nVida showed during their launch presentation is a bit of a misnomer. Not to say Pascal isn't great, the series is a beast.

You can find the 980Ti for around $300 and less if you dig hard enough.
