Okay, that's odd. My Intel Inject for Intel HD 530 works fine. But it's not the cleanest solution having two cables directing into a single display. But it works for me without unplugging cables.
i have hd4600 not sure if thats the issue having a different cpu (4790k) or not .. i guess ill keep on plugging away till it's sorted.

How long has it taken for nvidia to bring there drivers out in the past? I feel like this is taking an unreasonably long time.
This is asked often, and the answer is around 6 months.

The gist of the thread is that Pascal drivers are uncertain to be released but hope swings towards them being released. Speculation of them being released also swings towards the next major OS release.

Only thing is, I need to work out how to make them work on a Apple Cinema Display.

ACD 27" works fine here. I use a DisplayPort switch to go between HD530 (Mac+Windows) and GTX1080 (Windows).

Make sure you have the non-Thunderbolt version of the ACD, though. The Thunderbolt version is not a "vanilla" DisplayPort device.

For sleep under macOS, I set a hot corner and set it to "sleep".

Btw I'm still under El Capitan, so haven't had the chance to mess with Sierra yet.

I assume you leave both attached all the time and have the monitor connected to both cards?
So what I do is switch input once I login and the main display on Mac is set for the second card. It's complicated but I'll post a video on what I do once my pc gets put back together had to order new HD's

@Wolfie81 do you have a link to a list of cards that work OOB? Is the GT 730 the most powerful among them?
It's not powerful but for $80 I bought it as something cheap till they release drivers for 1000 series. Only issue is I have a ultrawide with display port. Display port is 60hz and the hdmi is 50hz which the 730 only had hdmi , vga, and dvi so I'm not full 60hz but I have OS X 10.12 running so I can start fcpx again. Btw fcpx works perfect on 730
