Hello,

I currently am running a working Skylake (6700K) El Capitan hackintosh with iMac 14,2 SMBIOS. After reading other posts it is apparent that a iMac 17,1 SMBIOS is best for skylake. I am using clover configurator to try to change my SMBIOS to iMac 17,1.

In the second post on the following thread (http://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/quick-guide-to-generate-a-ssdt-for-cpu-power-management.177456/), it is stated that iMac 17,1 has three different system definitions for skylake:

Retina 5K, 27-inch, Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz
Mac-65CE76090165799A:iMac17,1
Retina 5K, 27-inch, Intel Core i5-6600 3.3GHz
Mac-B809C3757DA9BB8D:iMac17,1
Retina 5K, 27-inch, Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz
Mac-DB15BD556843C820:iMac17,1

But under the clover configurator smbios section, it only gives the option of Retina 5K, 27-inch, Intel Core i5-6600 3.3GHz
Mac-B809C3757DA9BB8D:iMac17,1

My question is, how do I get Mac-65CE76090165799A:iMac17,1 definition for my 6700K? Using clover configurator, is it as simple as manually inputing the numbers in place or does the other associated information such as Board ID and BIOS version need to be changed?

Thank you in advance!

I've got exactly the same question. I just finished to configure my hakintosh (Z170, i6700k, 16GbRAM) and I don't know what to do about the SMBIOS to optimize everything.

I've got exactly the same question, too

Did you ever get an answer? Or go ahead with the move to 17,1?

read early post about graphics or search about AGDPfix1.3 ;-)
I post about this but don't remember where

I made the move to 17,1 sometime ago and have been very happy with the stability of the system. Just had to make the tweak to get video working (Black Screen)

I have almost an identical system to you jyanes. My Mobo is a Gaming 6 and GPU is a EVGA 950scc 2GB.

I am curious what issues were you having on the 14,2 and what all did you have to go through on changing it to 17,1.
Regarding the black screen video issue, did you just install one kext(shiki.kext) or did you need to install some imac.kext I don't know where to find?

My hackintosh has been running fairly stable with an occasional reboot on loading a video game, but discovered last night that my purchased movies in itunes weren't playing. Plan on going through the steps to hopefully fix that, but I am terrified something else is going to stop working on the graphics card when I do that. Any words of advice you have would be great. Thx.

Don't use shiki and iMac.kext. use the newer Lilu.kext and NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext

https://github.com/vit9696/Lilu

https://sourceforge.net/projects/nvidiagraphicsfixup/

I removed iMac.kext and Shiki, i then replaced with Lilu and NvidiaGraphicsFixup....

The problem is that i lost my ability to play Movies through iTunes..which was the reason for me using iMac/Shiki.

Did i do something wrong or miss something?

We are talking about two different things here.

In order to use an iMac17,1 system definition and to prevent the black screen issue you can use Lilu.kext and NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext

For iTunes DRM playback with Maxwell GPU's you can use Shiki.kext and iMac.kext
