Hi guys.. I think I will give it a try to build my first hackintosh following instructions (thanks Stork)
the main work will be FcpX editing so I was wondering which card will work with these parts....
The latest AMD and Nvidia cards are not yet supported by Apple or either company. So, look for a used Nvidia GTX 980 or 980 Ti if that's your price range. If you can wait (not long, I hope), Nvidia might support the Pascal (GTX 1000) graphics cards real soon now. Sigh.

Question, is there no way to use the optical out for digital audio? I see under the instructions it requires the 3.5mm green plug.

Also, what else do I need to install into a samsung 950pro NVME drive?

thx
Optical out works just fine with this build!

I'll try sleeping my build tomorrow to see if all's well or not.

I use the standard boot arguments. The only config.plist change is for the "new way" Clover is handling the Nvidia flag. See tonymacx86's Sierra guide here > New Method for Enabling NVIDIA Web Drivers in Clover
Any luck? I'm wondering if maybe this has something to do with Sierra, and I should try El Capitan. To be clear, sleep works if I only let it sleep for like 10-15 minutes or so. Longer than that, and waking it up seems to provoke a reboot. This behavior is regardless of power nap settings.

Otherwise, I may just turn off the display as opposed sleeping automatically and live with it, haha.

Thanks, is the R9 280x is supported?

I can confirm your experience. I removed CodecCommander.kext from the /L/E/ folder and rebooted without caches. Problem still occurs. I will pursue over the next couple days.

Yes, as described in Fl0r!an's sticky thread in the Graphics forum section.

Radeon Compatibility Guide - ATI/AMD Graphics Cards

However, these cards do not wake up from sleep. So, if you never put your system to sleep, you'll be OK with the 280X. BTW, I use a flashed 280X in my 2010 Mac Pro (5,1).

Sorry to be a noob, so right now there is a sleep problem with Sierra using this Mobo?

Finally got my Wifi/BT card from China. Beside disabling onboard WiFi & BT from Bios, this just works.:thumbup::thumbup:

I've got this working on my build, I've got the same mother board (obviously) and an i7 6700k processor and I'm running the hd 530 graphics because my gtx 1080 isn't supported yet. Everything but the sound is working, even with the above drivers installed. I'm afraid to try more because my OS X install broke once and I had to re-do it.

I'm running OS X Sierra and I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck with the sound.

Also, there is some graphical glitches using HD 530, anyone know of a fix to that?

I'm completely stuck I can't get my MB to boot can't even see the Bios screen I'm running HDMI from the board with one SSD attached can anyone give me any hints here?

I've tried to follow this step by step as its the closest I've found to me configuration (I have the Hero Alpha). and I keep getting this panic right when I click the sierra installer.

To be clear:
I have two (2) 512gb Samsung 950Pro's installed. One has Win10 and the other is blank and that's where I intend on installing Sierra.
