Nice. Marked solved.

Excellent speed, which PCI E slot, 2?

Is this bootable?

Is the nvme drive bootable?

holy crap!!

the other day I jumped on this for my 5,1.. I bought a 4 card Amfeltec Squid card.. after seeing insane results like above. I had bought the newer Samsung NVMe blades and was getting terrible performance using soft raid and the macvidcard NVMe driver (like... 800meg/sec RAID 0 with 4!). After some more reading.. the original Barefeats article had run into the same problem.

I brought all the SSD's back... but now see this and I'm like... arghhh!!!

So - Wondering if you could guide me the right way...

Reading your steps above:

1. Disable SIP
2. Create HackrNVMeFamily.ktext with 10.12.0
3. Using any ktext installer (or terminal), I put the above file in S/L/E of the OS
4. I then delete IONVMeFamily.kext
5. Install the PCIe w/NVMe SSDs into Mac Pro
6. Restart, and it should be working?

#2 is the only one i don't know how to do.

I'm on El Capitan. Does it make a difference? Is that a file you could send?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Neil
