Any recommendations on a budget video card under 100 dollars? I have the CMT model so height and size shouldn't be an issue just power and such with the power supply and proprietary connectors

As far as I know you only need to have a minimum of Intel-i3, 80gb. hard-drive , 4gb. of ram and an Nvidia Gt 630 or higher graphics card for an easy install. I would begin by installing Windows-7 on this PC first so that you can flash the bios. Then upgrading the bios to the latest version which is 3.02. I have been able to install El Capitan on an Intel Pentium G630. However for macOS Sierra you will probably need an Intel-i3 or greater.

The procedure to installing Sierra should be the same as with El Capitan.
Except as you noted in a previous post, a system definition of imac14,2 should be used instead of 13,2 in order to get the system to sleep and wake properly in Sierra, correct?

Here's a good budget card that doesn't need supplemental 6 pin power. Will need the Nvidia web drivers though.

Nice I noticed that nivida is releasing the gtx 1050 for 109 bucks this month I might wait and see if pascal becomes more supported as this should be a solid upgrade over a 950 and requires no extra power either. If this MSI card comes down in price though I might snag it so I appreciate you posting it buddy.

So I successfully installed El Capitan and Sierra on my 8300 mini tower with Core i5 processor both went pretty smoothly but since this processor has HD2500 graphics vs 4000 in the i7 I couldn't get onboard video working. I found an old nvidia quadro k600 and surprisingly that boots up natively with no injections or web drivers. However, I can't get audio working with it, I tried various audio kexts for hdmi audio since I'm using DP to HDMI adapter but no go. Anyone have any suggestions? Otherwise I'm guessing I will try and nab a cheap 630,710,730 type card on eBay or something.

The only other pain is getting used to Clover, at some point I did something that would fail to let me boot to OS X or Win 10 and I realized it somehow is writing to the efi or mbr of my windows drive and not my Apple SSD. So I repaired it and got it working but what is the catch to getting clover to install on a different hard drive than the one in slot 0? Ultimately I will reinstall both OS's once I get the audio fixed but for now was just a test bench machine to see how easy or not..this hackintosh gig would be lol

Did you try the HDMI audio installer I included in post #1?

I did, it was the first one I tried, when I fire up that DPCI app in my PCI list I see an NVIDIA AUDIO DEVICE but the OS itself shows no sound output devices. OS X sees the card as the proper setup vram size, etc I know some of these earlier cards needed a jumper to the mobo, but mine has no such item or spot for it on the card. If I can post any information that would help let me know, I'm still very new to this. Also thank you for taking the time to post enough information for even a noob to figure out how to get one of these running.

Hmm... It should be working... The K600 is Kepler based so it should be recent enough to have audio over HDMI...
