Graphics

I've tried everything! I DON'T GET IT!

Gigabyte Z170N & the H170N (Bought both)

Intel Core i7 6700K 8M Skylake

32 PNY Anarchy Ram 2x 16

EVGA Geforce GTX 950

I have both the Gigabyte Z170N & the H170N. I've done ammulders El Captain guide on both motherboards many times. I've tried flashing my bios to recommended settings. I've tried different USB Sticks, a USB 2.0 usb plugged directly into the motherboard and many other usb fixes (ammulders guide). I understand that the process is basically fixing USB ports so that it will properly, read and install OSX. BUT WHAT AM I DOING WRONG!

No matter what I do I always Get the White apple logo with a black background, then eventually a status bar underneath (My LED keyboard turns off for a moment when the status bar shows up, maybe showing some kind of usb failure).

Please, is there someone out there willing to help me? Any version of OSX is would do.

Presuming you are using the 6700k with a the Nvidia 950. I am not sure why you would use 32gb of RAM with that GPU but that is your decision. I am not sure why anyone installs 32gbs of ram but that is off topic. Perhaps going down to 16 gbs for the install may help.
Presuming motherboard settings are correct.
I would start over with Sierra and the appropriate version of Unibeast and Multibeast. Why torture with El Cap when you can torture yourself with Apple's latest and greatest?
I do not think you will need a flag with the Sierra version of Unibeast, if you do it is nv_disable=1. That is the flag that you will require for El Cap. In El Cap that should get you to the installer.
In my not unlimited experience forgetting about that Nvidia flag wreaks havoc for many in many scenarios. Apple assumes you are using the Intel or AMD graphics they sell, who'd of thought?
It takes several minutes to get to the installer with sometimes a very slow moving progress bar. You may then see a grayish screen with a mouse pointer, just wait and see.
If the installation completes in El Cap you will still need the flag to boot to El Cap. You should not need it if you manage to get the Nvidia drivers installed.
The choices for network drivers in MB are not specifically spelled out so research what others have used. For audio you will probably have to run the Toledo script in addition to installing drivers with MB. To use the script means you have to understand how to mount the EFI partition.
You will get there eventually.

Okay, Ill go ahead and try that, with and/or without the flag. Ill even try with a singe 16gb stick of ram. I will make sure the motherboard settings are fine. I will go ahead and use the new unibeast (which I hear is now clover) and new multibeast Now, I sense im going with with sierra, will I need to still swap some files from the EFI as decribed in ammulders guide?

I don't know ammulder's guide is. I just installed el cap to a z170x-ud3 board using iGPU. Installing OS X/macOS to a Hackintosh is not for the faint of heart and even when you buy a Golden Build there will be issues.

First, what problem are you actually getting. You don't say. Getting the white Apple logo with the progress bar is a Good Thing. I'm assuming that what you mean is, the system either hangs or reboots. With installs and first boots, the system can take a very long time to come up, so I hope you are not prematurely cold-booting a system that is trying to come up (slowly).

First, you have to get your BIOS set right. Look for BIOS threads for your SPECIFIC board or use the general set up guides. Do not assume a guide for a similar board will work for yours. Always start from optimized settings and try to just change the minimal. You don't want to go bananas changing stuff. When in doubt don't change it.

Second, I generally recommend removing the discrete GPU while installing, using a USB 2 port (typically the ones at the top of the IO shield near the PS2 port usually work the best), and plugging a single monitor into the DVI port of your IGPU. Worry about the discrete GPU later.

Get your installer USB built, boot Clover from it, and hit space and select Verbose. Get your phone out and take video of the output if the system is spontaneously rebooting halfway through, or take a picture if it hangs. Get on the forum and research the exact problem you're having. Be patient: if it appears to hang, give it a few minutes, it could actually be fine, especially if booting off the very slow USB stick.

Bottom line is minimize variables. You don't care about discrete graphics, sound, network, or any of that right now, you're trying to reach the installer GUI, and succeeding there, reach the Welcome to OS X setup screens and the desktop. The more variables you have, the tougher it'll be to get this far.

Thank you for you response.
This is an ITX with no USB 2.0. That being said I will continue to use a 2.0 port I have plugged directly into my motherboard. My bios align with the H170n Motherboard Hackintosh guide from tonymac. I will continue my attempts without a gpu in my pcie. From the looks of what ive been reading online and on forums. Its a USB issues. The fixes offered for it don't seem to be help much. I don't know if sierra with fix this maybe?

This is the guide I've been following and tinkering with for the passed 3 weeks

https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-el-capitan-on-the-skylake-h170n-wifi.178197/

I've followed it to the Tee. What happens once I boot into the USB drive... I start the installation, all of my USB components flash as if power in being lost at some point. The apple logo shows with a status bar underneath that makes it a little more then half way, then I get a do not enter "No entry sign" I do the same in verbose mode, I get a bunch of text at first, then a No entry sign (at this point the text is all garbled up). I have my bios set up exactly as it says in the guide above (algins with the tonymac Bios guide on the el captain install guide as well ass the h170n motherboard guide). I have been using trying the installer with El captain, I am not apposed to using the New Sierra OSX, its just that, in my experience with building hackintoshes, I've always had a guide to follow, and I follow it to the Tee.

My experience with the "No Entry" error during USB installation is that the Installer code is saying "Waiting for Device," and eventually times out, giving that slashed circle. For some reason, the only way I could complete the installation was to insert the USB stick into the rear port intended for the keyboard/mouse; no other would work. But once there (instead of in any of the other USB ports), the installation would complete. This was even true with my GA-H170N-WIFI motherboard, even though ALL the USB ports are 3.0, none being 2.0. Apparently it is a different USB controller driving that port, which the Apple installer "likes." Sorry I can't be more clear... it's because I don't understand it!!

Oh yeah, be sure to install RehabMan's "USBInjectAll.kext" (latest version at top of list here: https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/os-x-usb-inject-all/downloads ) into your USB's EFI/EFI/Clover/kexts/10.11 folder, and also (don't know why) 10.10 folder. I think the latest version of RehabMan's kext is 0.5.14. It worked for me. Also, once you have actually made it to the desktop, don't forget to make sure that kext is in your hard disk's corresponding EFI partition (same places) or your /Library/Extensions folder. On boot, the Mac OS will load that as long as it's in one of those places (both won't hurt).

Thank you for your reply wstrohm

So are you saying once I get the no entry sign, I should Unplug the port from which it is being installed from, and plug it into the back of the case, into the motherboard? Or are you saying start from the back before the no entry sign. I ask because apparently, I have read about some work arounds that involve booting in verbose, and once the no entry sign comes up, unplugging from 1 port, and plugging back into another port, then the install continues.
Is that what you mean?

Alright... here is a video in verbose!

Are there any doctors in the house?

Do you have the ram in the correct slots?
Have you tried creating the usb installer on a different usb stick?
How do you have usb2.0 directly to the motherboard?

I am almost certain it's an issue with the usb stick because the last message in the video says waiting for something. Also check out my guide to install Sierra. I wouldn't bother with El Capitan as it's outdated software.
