Hey guys!

I'll be attempting to migrate to Sierra this weekend.
I'll be trying the Direct Update method first and if I do succeed I might set up another installation just to see how it goes when you do a clean install but otherwise will stick to the updated version.

I'll be creating a new thread in the Sierra Desktop Support (or whatever the forum section was) and will be posting there from now on. I will report on my status there and will be putting a link in the OP as well.

Thank you all very much for figuring stuff out along with me!

Happy Hacking,
littlegreen

Hello, thank you for the guide

Anyone use the HD530 on 10.11.6 in HDMI @ 1440p?
I cant understand why the max resolution is 1152p

thank you for help!

Next time I will check - even if it is of less importance for me how long shut down will take ;-)

Result: Sometime it takes a little longer but mostly shutting down needs about 10s

So, I will keep this post updated.

Edit: Found the solution. Needed SSDT-USB placed in ACPI/patched/ and an updated config.plst:

Thanks for the help so far :).
hello Itzeme,

PS2 - apage satanas!

Apple USB keyboard + Logiteck M705 mouse, the latter connected with the RF receiver in a port of a powered USB hub. Did you try with a new user?

Even on the Gigabyte site it is, so download...

Hello all, many thanks for the guide !

After my first successful build last year, i'm having trouble on this one :

Gigabyte Z170-HD3p - i7 6700K - EVGA GTX960

It was installed on El Capitan then updated to Sierra and everything works globally fine except the Nvidia is not recognized.
ECC section of the webdriver manager say no device found, and system info says no kext loaded.

I've tried a lot of combinations and can't get the GPU to work.

Is it possible that it can't work on Sierra yet ?
As I can still return the GPU and buy another, do you think I'd be more lucky with say a Radeon or something else ?

Here's my config.plist in case somebody finds something.

Many thanks !

indeed sierra 12.1 and latest nvidia driver.

I note that your system ID is iMac 14,1, where mine was a 17,1.

I boot without trouble with your config.plist but the GPU remains invisible.

I tried with a GT740sc, same problem.

I guess i'll try a fresh install on El Capitan with appropriate driver, and if i still don't get a result i'll order another GPU.

Thanks for your answer !
