MultiBeast for Sierra should be out today or you can update your drivers/kexts using KextBeast and the kexts in the Download menu. Be sure to put your kexts on your Desktop, then run KextBeast selecting /Library/Extension/ designation.

"The Beasts" have been late this time due to Clover problems with Sierra.

Great build description! I am new to building computers and was planning to follow your build with exception to maybe the case and hard drives. I notice the "Apple BCM94360CD (iMac) 802.11ac BT4.0 Card+BCM94360CD to PCI-E Express Adapter Card" is no longer available on Amazon. Is there another card you can recommend?

Wow! These cards have dried up. I found this on eBay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Broadcom-BC...482894?hash=item4650a1aa4e:g:MfQAAOSw3YNXYMeI
but I have no experience with it, and it looks like it will, literally, be shipped on a slow boat from China.

You can also find them from OSXWIFI.com, but, unfortunately, at twice the price. I have bought a card for my 2008 Mac Pro from them, and I am pleased with their service. However, I recently saw some bad feedback on the MacRumors forum (Mac Pro section).

Finally, I've used the BT 4 USB dongles and WiFi PCIe cards in the tonymacx86 Buyer's Guide, Accessories section. But, IMO, they aren't as Mac like as the iMac WiFi/BT card and PCIe adapter combination.

So, good luck.

Don't update to Sierra yet. The NVMeGeneric.kext and RehabMan's nvme-patcher don't work with the latest Sierra GM release.

Nvme patch from piker alpha work perfectly fine for me Samsung 950 Pro on 10.12 Maximus VIII Formula

Yeah and its working with no issue read and write test show expected speed also no kernel panic SSD is detected as NVMExpress internal, well its working great
Confirmed. Thank you, BlackHack13. I copied Pike's code to my UniBeast Installation USB thumb drive's config.plist file (in the appropriate location, of course), and booted into the installer which saw the Samsung 950 Pro M.2 NVMe SSD. Now, we'll have to see if breaks for 10.12.1 and newer macOS updates.

Now, to explore the use of RehabMan's patch-nvme patcher.
With 10.12 there are a couple of procedural changes:
  • If you are trying to use HackrNVMeFamily for the 10.12 installer, forget about it. Use the correct patches in config.plist KextsToPatch.
  • Once you install, you can create the HackrNVMeFamily and use it (or use one you already created), but you must remove IONVMeFamily.kext from /System/Library/Extensions
Unfortunately, RehabMan didn't say what patches and it's left up to the user to arrive at the right patches by PikeRAlpha. Now to document my procedures to do both a fresh install and install over El Caption.
