Word. thanks. I had actually had and issue with soundflower on mavericks but never mountain lion. It is time for me to get with the times and update to a newer os. Will do soon.

Ive never used it. But I've seen a lot of people on here had issues because of it.

Yes. Definitly. That was not it tho.

I had it happen again just now, and went to audio midi setup and output was at 24 bit and the input 16. I guess something is telling it to go to that, because I didn't touch it. I made an aggregate device with just the in and out. With the input as the clock source. We'll see if this works. also deleted the plist for it. so crossing my fingers.

Just hooked up an external sound card that isn't pluginplay(meaning I installed a driver for it). Works great at 24/96. I know I said that before so I'm hoping this works. I would still rather use the onboard at 16/48. But I don't have a backup prior to the issue. So I'll live with this if it works for now. It's really a weird one that seems to have been spawned from connecting the amx mixer. Also I downloaded 10.11 and followed the guide(at least I thought I did) and when I booted from USB it just booted from the ssd, like clover wasn't there. So I will try to update soon, probably once I get another hd or two. But this is working with solid quality for now, but it's bulky extra hardware. oh well.
