Ever since, I've upgraded to Sierra, I can't get the sound to work.
In fact, no audio devices are even found.

I've tried:
- audio_cloverALC-120_v1.0b0
- and also audio_codecdetect_v2.0
- Multibeast driver for Realtek ALC889

These potential fixes are from the No Audio Devices sticky guide.

I have the latest Clover (3763)
Realtek ALC 889

Another problem I'm having is that the fan of my computer seems to be crazy loud ever since upgrading.

Can someone smarter than me, please help me out?

Is there nobody that know's how to fix this?
Not if you don't follow the instructions in the "sticky" threads in this forum.
Pay particular attention to the Troubleshooting advice.

See II. Problem Reporting, Post #1, No Audio Devices - Realtek ALC AppleHDA. Post to thread linked.

Thanks, but I have been through that guide. I don't understand half of what it describes, so I'll try to create a step-by-step plan to supposably fixes my issue. I have not actually fixed anything yet, mind you. Please correct me if this plan is wrong.

1. Disable SIP with 0x67. Save and close (see how to here)
2. Restart
3. Download and run the audio_codecdetect.command file
4. Download and run the IORegistryExplorer tool
5. Use the search field in the tool and search for "HDEF"
6. Look for layout-id in the results (mine says: <01 00 00 00>, thus valid)
7. Download and run the DPCIManager tool
8. Verify Codec ID (mine says: 10ec0889 - ALC889)
9. Verify that the AppleHDA.kext is located in System/Library/Extensions/ folder (it is)
10. Restart and pray it works
11. Enable SIP with 0x0

EDIT: This did not work for me.

Well sh*t.

I've made a series of mistakes that has caused me to no longer be able to boot in neither my main installation as well the backup clone (El Capitan).

Mistakes I've made:
1. Forgot to load the Clover config file fom my EFI drive in Clover Configurator.
2. Tried to disable SIP through 0x67, but because I didn't load the config file, I actually created a new blank config file (overwriting the main working one). I only noticed my mistake after I rebooted.
3. I tried to restore the config file, by replacing the new (blank) file with the one from my El Capitan cloned drive. Sierra was still booting at this time.
4. Before I rebooted I also updated to Clover 3777 through Clover Configurator.

Results:
- Main drive (Sierra) won't boot. It immediately shuts down after Clover bootloader.
- Clone drive (El Capitan) won't boot.

Help!! What do I do now?

PS: I'm writing this my Windows drive.

Not an audio problem.
Install Sierra on top of the current Sierra.

Well, that sucks. Thank you Toleda for your help by the way!

I know this is no longer an audio problem, but I would really appreciate it if you can still help me out with a few more questions.

Is this problem caused by a corrupt Clover Bootloader or a corrupt Sierra installation?
Because I'm unable to boot into Sierra nor into am I able to boot into El Capitan (backup clone).

Is there perhaps a way to fix this without reinstalling Sierra? (creating a Unibeast USB is going to be a lot more complicated now that I only have access to a Windows.)

More importantly, will I lose my data if I install Sierra on top of the current Sierra?

Thank you
