Hey,
returning to this thread after almost two years. I`ve been having some issues lately using my Titanium HD card on Mavericks with the Fatality Champion VoodooHDA package from this thread. I guess it`s only to be expected as the OS gets updated.
So I thought I`d give a vanilla VoodooHDA for Mavericks a shot. As I more or less expected, it didn`t work out of the box. But I managed to make a Info.plist file to get it working again, so I thought I`d share it here.
It goes without saying that I in no way can guarantee that it`ll work for you and/or that it`ll be as easy and painful as it was on my system. You`re messing with system files - pretty much anything can happen. You`ve been warned.
First, you want to install VoodooHDA for Mavericks. Get it here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/voodoohda/
You might want to get rid of the old VoodooHDA install first, just to be sure you don`t have any leftovers (I had an old VoodooHDA.preflist installed in S/L/E, so I removed it).
Then just go to S/L/E/VoodooHDA.kext/Contents, backup the original Info.plist file (just to be sure) and copy the new Info.plist (attached to this post) there. Note that you need root access to modify the contents of this folder (I used Terminal and sudo-ed Midnight Commander for the job).
Finally, check that the permissions and ownership of your new Info.plist file is correct - permissions should be 644 (rw, r, r) and the file should be owned by user root, group wheel.
Once you`ve done all that, just restart. Hopefully your system will boot just fine and you`ll be able to access your sound configuration in System Preferences and select the correct output. Please note that as far as I`m aware, when using analog output, you`re still limited to the rear RCA output (now shown as "Line Out [Red]") - neither rear nor front panel headphone output seem to work. Can`t really test the digital output, so I can`t really tell whether that works or not (the outputs and inputs should be configured properly from the Info.plist side of things, as far as I can tell). But as always, it`s better than nothing, at from my initial testing, it seems a lot more stable than the old Fatality Champion VoodooHDA on Mavericks.
Of course, YMMV.
