Hi. Im trying to install sierra on this old motherboard.
I can install Sierra, and boot up again to set up my mac, but none of my USB ports are working.

In the beginning I couldn't install from the Sierra installer, that i had on a usb stick (along with Clover boot loader), because i would get an error "waiting for root device".... But it makes sense since my usb ports aren't seen during the installer.
So i pressed update to sierra instead, in the App Store (on my current mavericks installalation) and that created an install partition.

So i am currently booting from a usb stick with clover, and selecting to start up the Sierra installer partition. I press space and select verbose, inject kexts, and without cache.

I get to the "setup my new mac" screen, but none of my usb ports are working. So i can't really get any further.

I can find my way around clover configurator and copy kexts to the EFI and stuff, but i could really need some help. Thanks:)

This is the list of kexts i have in the "other" folder of my Clover usb:

file:///Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/FakePCIID_XHCIMux.kext/
file:///Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/FakePCIID.kext/
file:///Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/FakeSMC.kext/
file:///Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/GenericUSBXHCI.kext/
file:///Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/NullCPUPowerManagement.kext/
file:///Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/USBInjectAll.kext/

This is the config.plist

Mehhh... Tried different things here and there.. I can't get it to work. Someone help me pretty please;)

Thanks! I'll have a look at it:)

Had a look at it, and i cant really see how it would help me (not trying to sound condecending!, im just a noob:)

I extrated my DSDT and opened it up in maciASL and tried to edit some thing (found a guide somewhere), but once i hit compile i get errors. I checked and even without me editing anything i get compiler errors:

I tried with a fresh el capitan install as well and it was the same problem. I have googled around and i cant really find any easy way to fix this. Is my MB simply not compatible with el capitan and above?

Thanks!

If you follow the guide there is nothing in it that requires you compile DSDT.

I don't think you're reading carefully.

Thanks for taking the time:) The whole dsdt patching thing i got from another guide that talked about fixing the USB issue.

In your guide, you seem to say that the easiest thing would be to get a FL1100 based USB3 card, Inateck KTU3FR-5O2I?

I found this instead, http://www.ebay.com/itm/262147801126?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

It says it works out of the box with Sierra, so i might just go for that instead. Should solve all my problems I think.

It is FL1100 so should work.
