Hi All,

Does anyone know how to make a backup of the Dell Bios? or Extract it in order to gain access to the ROM file? I want to change the DVMT-Prealloc in my Dell Inspiron i5559.

But I can't seem to figure out how to get the ROM file, from the website dell provides the BIOS in a ".exe" file which I tried to extract using /Writeromfile, UniExtractor and 7Zip but nothing seems to work.

I can't even figure out which make the bios is. My bios looks like the image attached and in windows system information under bios version it says "Dell Inc. 1.2.4"

If anyone knows how to get the bios for this machine or has experience with dell bios please let me know. Any feedback is much appreciated! Thanks in advance :)

Hello i recently did a change dvmt for my dell inspiron 3543 i managed to first update the bios to the latest, then dumped the bios with ami bios utility, then i extracted p32 and then i used the ifr extractor i found the DVMT values and i tried to change but i got a problem out of range, so first once you update your bios you must do this https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/fix-unable-to-change-dvmt-settings-dell-ami-bios.192035/

then create the usb and change the variable that you will find in the .txt extracted ifr, if you have some doubts just let me know, greetings.
