Running Dell XPS 8930 with Clover 4509.
No issues upgrading to 10.13.5.
All I did was run the install and update apfs.efi.
You can patch apfs.efi with the following command if you don't want the white text (verbose output) on startup:
perl -i -pe...
@mattglobal
Could you check the revision of your motherboard?
It should be printed on one of the corners of your motherboard (1.0, 1.1 or 1.2).
Did you create the installation media in exactly the same way?
You can also try booting your installation with the -v option, that might give a better...
The -v option might indeed be useful to see where it stops.
I think I had a similar problem when I switched to the Clover bootloader.
In my case there was something wrong with the OSX Install.
Try the steps I describe here for creating the Installation Media...
Quite regularly I feel that setting up a hackintosh is a repeating process of 1 step forward and 2 steps backwards :)
So if you plug-in your headphones it won't redirect the sound?
Hmmm, I kinda expected Gigabyte to store the settings in a pretty XML format, but they have to make it a...
Hi Phob0s,
Glad to hear you're a bit closer to a fully working system!

There is a small downside to using AppleHDA: if you don't use your sound card for about 20sec. Apple will enable power savings on it. Then when you play a song or system sound after those 20sec. you'll probably hear a...
This is the post I tried to do earlier. It also included some steps on how to patch AppleHDA, but if I add those then the forum won't accept my post (grmbl).
@Sakkada008
Sorry I'm not using a laptop so I don't really know how to fix brightness issues.
The AddPNLF option in Clover might help...
Here is the raw DSDT patch for GA-Z77X-UD3H.
You can patch it using MaciASL:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/maciasl/
Steps:
- Make sure you start with an unpatched DSDT (disable any Clover patches, mask should be 0)
- Open MaciASL
- Under preferences, set the compiler to ACPI 5.0 (go back to...

Ok guys, I've managed to post the guide.
You are right, the Z77X-UD3H patch at PJALM contains some small errors in the audio part.
You can use my DSDT if you want. Later I'll try to post the PJALM patch here without errors.
Ok, here are the steps:

Kernel panic on wake can have numerous causes.
You might want to try these:
- Add or remove the NullCPUPowerManagement KExt (try with and without this KExt)
- Add darkwake=0 as boot option
- Activate AsusAICPUPM in Clover
- Activate P-states and C-states
Also please check /var/log/system for...
I believe by default it is set to Auto (Bios optimized defaults). I'd advise to disable it, it is known to cause all kinds of weird USB / wake issues. On my previous build it used to fix a weird mouse keyboard delay (something like 20sec) after waking OSX.
Also tip: backup your Bios settings to...
