Same thing here. Download -> Update -> confirm restart, update runs with apple logo and a progressbar -> restart
and the list of volumes is the same old - no new volumes at all.
I feel like it crashes on the first stage and restarts the system. Updated clover and kexts - no change. Boots into...
Sure :) I'm using iMac17,1 definition, kexts in L/E (kept those here as I used Multibeast for installation and it seems like it places them in L/E)
ACS6x.kext
ATTOCelerityFC8.kext
ATTOExpressSASHBA2.kext
ATTOExpressSASRAID2.kext
AppleALC.kext
ArcMSR.kext
CUDA.kext
CalDigitHDProDrv.kext...
Exactly the opposite here - Chrome/Electron apps were painfully sluggish and laggy before latest patches. Now Chrome is the fastest thing on earth :) Slack isn't fast by nature but the performance improvement is drastic here. I was using all those with `--disable-gpu` before the kext patches...
Exactly my case :) After @vulgo pointed out to check whether the new kext has been loaded I did the check and found that I had old kext in L/E - replaced that and voila :)
The water test is working for me. I had the hardware acceleration disabled on Chrome with .106 driver since it was quite unusable. Cinebench and GeekBench works as well - Cinebench gave me 110 FPS. Chrome now works smoother than on my MBP laptop. The .106 driver with the old kexts was way slower...
Maybe it has to do something with the video card - yours is 1080ti, newer architecture ... maybe someone with similar video can test and share results.
For me the new patched kexts with .103 driver, the system performs way better than with .106. Totally smooth and no lag whatsoever. SIP completely disabled 0x67, using emulated NVRAM with Clover and no boot flags for loading the video drivers.
@vulgo Thanks a million! Seems like I had another kext in L/E - updating it seems to make huge difference! So smooth now with the .103 driver. I can confirm that my machine is more than perfect now. Thanks again!
No change for me with NvidiaGraphicsFixup 1.2.5. After installing the .103 driver the terrible lag is here again
Z170X, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 using iMac17,1 definitions. Not sure if I'm not missing something but what I did is to replace the NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext in the EFI.
Well that did it :) it took me a day and a half in testing.
RehabMan dude :) you are a lifesaver. Thanks a million! Seems to work awesome now.
I am wondering something - I added PCIRootUID=1 because it was failing to boot from the USB drive and after the install - I am wondering how does it...
Hi guys,
I am trying to get my HD 4400 working but nothing seems to help. I tried almost all options setting IGPDeviceID, IntelAzulFB etc and also followed #1 guide but still I can't get it working. The CPU is i3-4160 with HD4400 graphics card. It's connected with DVI - changed from VGA since...
