Hey, I think I have some sort of similar issue to yours: I have a usb dongle on USB2.0 port in. While I plug my speaker to recharge it on the USB3.0 port, the dongle stops working, on restart becomes erratic or straight up doesn't work. It was until I unplugged the speaker that it started...

It is always good to have a backup of clover that works and a small USB Drive with a basic linux live. When I experiment and stuff goes wrong, boot into linux, replace the bad install with the old one on the EFI drive and boom
