Some 20 minutes / 3 restarts smooth update, OC 0.8.8. Soon 10 years of hackintoshing, probably not that much time left anymore.

All went smooth here, Open Core 0.8.3. As a former user of Clover and remembering the hackintosh from 8-10 years ago, these smooth updates from today are just unbelievable. It took some 20-25 minutes, few restarts, and looking good so far.

Had the same problem on a desktop PC, though. Got an answer on a discord channel, that solved my problem and I was able to get past the problem and update from Catalina to Big Sur as a genuine Mac: Is XHCI Hand Off in BIOS and/or ReleaseUsbOwnership in the config enabled?

@pastrychef It worked in the end but only when I switched the DP cable with a HDMI one. Now it's working as it should, I believe. Mac OS Mojave is showing in the native monitor resolution (2k) and all seem to be working, sleep included. It just won't work with DP cable.

I did just that, but it won't work. It boots with the apple logo, loads half the way, then the monitor is going into sleep mode, and that would be all.

@hackNneddy I'm also tired of this web driver mess after any update, so I've found a good offer for a new Sapphire Radeon RX Vega 56 Pulse (377,00 EUR) and ordered one, will be delivered today. I'll sell my existing MSI GTX 970 card and thus save a third of the price for the new card by selling...
