I guess IPG is confusing because the frequency shows almost flat around 2900 when it's idling and doing nothing, I presume this is when (8) would be selected in AppleIntelInfo. IPG never shows the frequency at 800 MHz. This is why I've assumed power management wasn't working properly.
New files attached, thank you.
I can see in ioreg with iMac 14,1 SMBIOS selected GFX0 is not there anymore, this makes sense because that real mac does not have a discrete gfx card in it, whereas 14,2 and 14,3 do. I should have realised this sooner...At least that is cleared...
Still not booting with KernelPm off and iMac14,1 SMBIOS.
Please note the CPU I am attempting this with is i5 4570S.
I have another hack with i7 4790K and like you I can boot that without using KernelPm.
Is KernelPm required to be off to get native pm working?
Can you tell me specifically...
Ok, which kext are you referring to?
More importantly, is this anything that I need to fix and is power management working?
I've done a lot of research but it's very hard to find answers about these things and know whether it's up to date information or not. I appreciate you are doing this out...
Ok, I have done a fresh install running 10.13.1 and re-run the tests, files attached.
Running kextstat I can see LPC is loading using the 9-series SSDT in /patched.
One thing I have noticed is there is always a GFX0 entry showing alongside IGPU in ioreg under AGPMController even though the...
I'm confused, you said I shouldn't be using the 9 series SSDT with an 8 series motherboard in your last reply to me, which makes sense, but now you are saying I should?? I've already uploaded the files generated when using the 9 series ssdt, they are in my original post.
Setting up two machines and got confused, other is 9 series whilst this is 8 series. Have removed the 9 series ssdt. It's not clear from the guide where to get the 8 series SSDT and in fact if it is needed at all. Can you tell me where I can get it if it's needed, please?
Description of problem
Not sure whether PM is working properly. Without it added, Intel Power Gadget shows the cpu speed changing under load. With PM config the cpu speed seems to default to top speed and then drop when running Geekbench, before returning to top speed when completed.
My system running on 10.10.1 with Clover v2.3k 3185:
Core Quad Q6600
Gigabyte P35-S3G (non-UEFI)
8GB PC800 RAM
LG 21:9 ULTRAWIDE 25UM65
(LSPCI info attached)
My display has a native resolution of 2560x1080.
I'm having some trouble getting full resolution in the boot...
This was happening to me but I got around it by removing 1 x 8GB stick of RAM leaving 1 x 8GB still in.
The thing is, I managed to install in this machine without a hitch before but used windows as I had problems with display resolution on a new super wide monitor. I tried to boot into...
I'm having the same problem. I have:
The motherboard only outputs above 1080 on the HDMI port. The monitor accepts 2560x1080 on all inputs (HDMI, DVI, D-PORT).
I only get 1080p option in Displays preference pane, but that sets the display to 1920x1080 meaning it...
