This is so great man, really appreciate it. I shall give it ago once I find some time, cause it looks like it requires some serious preparation.
Thanks again!

So here's a dillema:
-should I stay with my easy-to-install, easy-to-restore Unibeast/Multibeast setup, or:
-go to Clover for iMessage support (and I guess a more "mac" experience altogether)
anything not working for you Clover users? how about a Z68MA-D2H-B3 specific step-by-step guide...
Hi rune_grøn,
Try unplugging everything not needed during installation, keeping just the board (reset BIOS, config according to the guide by Elite2K), one RAM module, GPU, one empty HDD, keyboard and mouse.
Let us know what happens.
So to recap, moving to Clover will fix iMessage (by calling Apple) but will break the sound after sleep?
seems like a heavy price, not to mention that after an unsuccessful go at Clover it took me almost a day to restore Chimera without losing data.
Hi,
Let me clarify this, if one installed win7 with SATA mode Legacy/RAID and then changed it to AHCI, then the install would break.
This has nothing to do with the guide, or the HW.
Hi Staypuft,
AHCI option is under Peripherals-> SATA Mode Selection. I have rev. 1.3 of this board.
Please bear in mind that changing this will make your hackintosh boot, but will break other installations like windows 7.
not much, just selected internal speakers as output device and the play feedback when volume is changed, then tried with the keyboard volume keys and it worked.
According to Multibeast: Installs AppleRTL8169Ethernet.kext in /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns. So yeah, I deleted that. Maybe not the best way, but it worked. I then installed Lnx2Mac and rebooted.
Hey guys,
For those of you who are using VirtualBox, it was seriously messing with my ethernet card. Lan would go down when VM was booting, had to run ifconfig en0 down/up every now and then to sort out. Problem fixed with deleting the Realtek driver and reverting back to Lnx2mac
First of all thanks for the guide and everyone's tips. I had to reinstall but I have user's home dir in a separate partition so it only took 15 mins to re-download all the software and all the preferences are there. Highly recommended practice for the adventurous hackintoshers.
Everything...
Hello SonicSeamus,
Identical build, here, did quite a few test installs to find the Multibeast config.
My additions to yours are:
IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector
TRIM Enabler (SSD for me)
FakeSMC (I thought this was a must?)...
thanks guys, me too completed install straight to 10.7.4 following the guide, plus softice advice for the USB ports. man i would never think of that one!
same setup, plus an old vertex 2 ssd, the system is snappy, stable and fully functional (i could not get sleep with other hackintoshes...
