Radeon Compatibility Guide - ATI/AMD Graphics Cards

Excellent information. Thanks. So in terms of compatibility, it might be best to put in an RX580 and plan to upgrade somewhere down the road? My situation is I want to upgrade to Catalina but am out of luck in terms of Nvidia drivers.

Radeon Compatibility Guide - ATI/AMD Graphics Cards

So the 6xxx series would probably be the best bet for long-term compatibility and performance?

Radeon Compatibility Guide - ATI/AMD Graphics Cards

Thanks. I'm seeing RX580s for $90 less than 5600XT. Is the RX580 considered better?

Radeon Compatibility Guide - ATI/AMD Graphics Cards

Here's a general question. What AMD cards are recommended right now, if I want to upgrade to Catalina? Currently unable to upgrade due to NVIDIA. It doesn't have to be amazing for gaming; I dual boot Windows for that. I would be running the AMD card for Mac and NVIDIA card for Windows...

NVIDIA Releases Alternate Graphics Drivers for macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 (387.10.10.10.40)

Same. I wonder if it's a good idea to get an AMD card for Mac and continue using the Nvidia card for Windows. (I have dual boot.)

NVIDIA Releases Alternate Graphics Drivers for macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 (387.10.10.10.40)

Serious question: Will there ever be Nvidia drivers for 10.14? Or is it expected to take so long?

    macOS 10.13.4 Security Update

Here's a noob question. In general should I just let security updates go through, or maybe wait a bit and see if people here are having issues with the update?

NVIDIA Web Driver Clover Patch + Tools

Thanks. I think I will try to avoid using NvidiaGraphicsFixup if possible. So something like this should work? 1. Mount EFI partition 2. Back up EFI/EFI/Clover/Config.plist 3. Open Web Driver Manager (then it will do the necessary patching?) 4. Open Clover Configurator to check that the...

NVIDIA Web Driver Clover Patch + Tools

If I just use those tools, will that be enough to get the drivers working? Can I skip the manual patching process? (I'm fine with repackaging installers whenever I decide to install a new one.)

NVIDIA Releases Alternate Graphics Drivers for macOS High Sierra 10.13.5 (387.10.10.10.35)

Here's a dumb question. (About to do an install on a freshly-built PC.) In the steps above, it's unclear to me where you have the opportunity to actually install the NVIDIA web driver package. Do you have access to your newly-installed OS at this point? For example, should a 1070 Ti be working...

NVIDIA Releases Alternate Graphics Drivers for macOS High Sierra 10.13.5 (387.10.10.10.35)

But version 387.10.10.10.30.107 won't install on 10.13.5. Is there a way around that?
