I was having the same problem with Catalina, for days I've been trying everything I can. By chance I tried setting the internal igpu as primary as others have had luck with, no joy. So, I disabled the internal gpu and sleep now works for me. Don't ask me why, because I have no idea!
My work machine, a MacBook Pro I like the Lite, I have the Apple cinema display and the shinny glass screen reflects like a mirror with dark mode same with the MacBook Pro glass screen it glares. I do like the dark mode at night with the room dark.
On my hackiintosh I like dark mode with my LG...
Not exactly unique, except I didn't do a fresh install, upgraded from Sierra to High Sierra, then upgraded to Mojave using the apps store to do the upgrades. Since my post I had some issues with the RX 560 and upgraded to a XFX Radeon RX 580 XXX because it was on sale and it works great.

I was previously using a XFX Radeon 6870 graphics card which is unsupported in Mojave, so being on a limited budget I bought a Gigabyte Radeon RX560 OC 4G and it worked OOB perfectly.

No luck with creating OS X El Capitan disk on "Gigabyte Z68MA-D2H-B3 UEF1 U1C bios" from El Capitan Clover Install USB that I created successfully.
Tried every boot option and settings with no luck, any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks for the Network Kext info, AttansicL1eEthernet.kext worked great. I have everything working with Lion now except the audio only works using the green audio out and headphone port on front.
