Do I need acceleration at all? stuck with 10.12

It depends on your needs. GPU should scale with CPU. If you buy the best graphics card on the market you may not see as much progress if your processor will hold you back slowing down the system. On the other hand you won't use the whole potential of your build without decent graphics card. The...

Can't login After Updating to 10.14.6 Using Combo Update

Solved. I managed to reinstall 10.14.5 on the same drive and it's working now. I cloned this straight away. Wi-Fi still doesn't work, but I won't mess with update, unless it will be necessary. Now, I'm just trying to fix that Wi-FI.

Wacom Intuos doesn't recognise gestures on Mojave

Thanks Jay. Good idea, and I should try it first on my macbook pro with new OS. I planned update to Mojave for this weekend. Hopefully Mojave will work as good as Maverics on 17" mid 2010 MBP. Fingers crossed. Cheers.

Do I need acceleration at all? stuck with 10.12

Hi. I had similar dilemma, using my hackintosh for Photoshop and Lightroom 90% of the time, I didn't even bother to upgrade since 2015. I maxed out memory to 32GB since new but I've been using this with a build-in GPU (intel i5-4960K). It was very quiet and fast enough with SSD (Samsung 850...

Wacom Intuos doesn't recognise gestures on Mojave

Hi. My Wacom Intuos Pen and Touch worked perfectly fine before on Yosemite. After update to 10.14.5 I couldn't scroll using 2 fingers on the tablet, everything else was OK. I downloaded most recent drivers from the wacom page and installed which made things even worse, because now I can't use 3...

    Mounting EFI partition in Mojave

Hi. How can I mount EFI partition on Mojave? I tried to use terminal, but nothing happened. Since I migrated from Yosemite straight to Mojave, the only way I can deal with EFI is ubuntu on a pendrive, which is not very convenient.

Can't login After Updating to 10.14.6 Using Combo Update

Hi. My system doesn't pass login (spinning loading animation) after I installed Mojave 10.14.6 Combo Update from 10.14.5. The previous version was almost fine, just Wi-Fi didn't work. Is there a way to fix or revert that broken installation? It seams that my backup copy is also broken :(

    << Solved >> Samsung 970 EVO M.2 SSD on MSI H97M-G43 doesn't work

It's 970 EVO (not PLUS), 1TB. I managed to solve the problem with following steps: 1. I removed all but 2 drives from my computer and I cloned my main SSD drive to a backup mechanical drive (pretty slow process, but necessary in case if something goes wrong) using SuperDuper. 2. I disconnected...

    << Solved >> Samsung 970 EVO M.2 SSD on MSI H97M-G43 doesn't work

Hi. Thanks to Tony, I have a stable build on Intel i5-4690K and Samsung 850 EVO SSD. I purchased recently 970 EVO and tried to instal macOS Mojave on this SSD, but it seams that macOS can't see this drive. I moved it from M.2 port to PCI Express 3.0 4x 8x 16x to M.2 NVMe and AHCI SSD Adapter...

Buying a new cheap laptop for hackintosh

Thank you. I don't have exceptional skills  I'm just developer and designer (java, javascript, actionscript), so not a rookie but far from hardware layer and I'm sure there is a lot to learn. I'm going to build a desktop hackintosh as well, so it's worth to invest some time to get to know...

Buying a new cheap laptop for hackintosh

Thanks, I've done it, read this forum for few days, but I'm still clueless. I know that processor, chipset and graphics card are essential and the full compatibility depends on guts of particular laptop, but it's hard to tell what driver I would have to use before I even started installation and...

Buying a new cheap laptop for hackintosh

Hello. Please forgive me lack of details. I'm looking for a new laptop for my daughter, not expensive (up to £400), something she could use longer than a year, with hackintosh as a side project in mind, so she could use Win/MacOSX/Linux systems and learn different apps. My first choice is 15"...
