I have this same issue in my 4530s. The "detect displays" does 'fix it' but it is annoying to have to do that.

Had the iMessage Registration with Code ####-####-#### and called AppleCare as their page says. Got transferred 2x to the Mac Dept. Said I wasn't at my Mac and got this code, it worked fine last week - all true. Rep asked for account info, then fixed my account and it worked fine. Annoying...
