I'm having the same problem. I don't know if patches dating back to Mountain Lion are going to help with this. Does anyone have any experience fixing this problem under Mavericks?
To be clear, my blu-ray hardware is working, and I can back up DVDs using 3rd party software, but DVD Player.app...
FWIW You only need the Boot OS X partition on one of the two drives making up your fusion drive. After much jiggery-pokery I managed to have the Boot OS X partition on the SSD drive and a Recovery HD partition on the HD.

I decided that card is old and slow and doesn't owe me anything. I bought a new one.
The StarTech PEXSAT34 4 Port PCI Express SATA III Controller Card with eSATA gives me three internal SATA and one external eSATA port. Between it and the 4 SATA ports on my motherboard I can now run 5 x HDs, 1...
Hi.
I took a StarTech single-port eSATA card out of my MacPro 1,1 where it worked just fine and put it into my hackintosh. It identifies as a pci197b,2363 in System Information, but when I attach a drive it does not mount. This is the report:
pci197b,2363:
Type: RAID Controller...
I built the mITX Prodigy (same case but with handles and an optical drive opening). You can flip both drive cages around so the openings face away from the video card. Then it doesn't take much fiddling to create the clearance you need for the top drive cage and a full length card to both fit -...
I'm getting a
in Step 3 when I click the purple "Patch" button up at the top.
I've double-checked Step 2 and the URL I put into preferences is the one I copied from your guide - "http://raw.github.com/toleda/audio_hmdi_uefi/master".
I even changed what your wrote in your guide 'For name. type...
I'd like to know the answer to this, too. I have definitely confirmed that if you make changes to the Extras folder at the root of a fusion drive, they do not have any effect. (In my case, I was messing around with Theme files.) The changes need to be made to the Extras folder in the hidden...
I want to tweak my Multibeast 6 settings. If I don't apply the same settings as I did before, does Multibeast revert them?
That is, if the first time I set the e.g. my audio driver to ALC982 and everything works, but later want to come in and change, for instance, my theme, if the ONLY thing I...
Article: UniBeast: Install OS X Mavericks on Any Supported Intel-based PC
I don't know if this is your problem, but my USB 3 drive with a fresh Mavericks install would only boot from a USB 2 port.
OK. This is where my n00b status comes in.
I've messed about a lot with Macs over the years, but this is my first PC mobo. These instructions don't make sense to me.
Where do I find the CMOS and where do I find a jumper? And what do I jump pin 12 to? And how does jumping a CMOS do anything...
I clearly am not playing on the same field as these other installs, so I would like to start from ground zero.
How do I reset the GA-Z77N-WIFI to zero state?
I've read the owner's manual that came with the mobo, and it doesn't include that info.
So does anyone know if there's a physical way...
Were you also using the GA-Z77N-WIFI motherboard?
I will go buy a bigger thumb drive just in case, but the UniBeast 2.0 / Mountain Lion 10.8.4 install I did only took 5.13 GB on the USB when I checked.
I tried both ways: overwriting a Lion install and wiping the SSD and doing a clean ML...
Whoa! Really! All that? Patched BIOSs, 3rd party packages, other websites? That's crazy!!
I thought tonymacx86 was about simplifying this?
If Mac OS X Lion 10.8.4 can't be installed on a GA-Z77N motherboard using UniBeast and MultiBeast, why don't they just say so and remove it from the...
