Love this! I've been trying to source the subwoofer from a set of Harman/Kardon Soundsticks to do something like this for a while (the Soundsticks use the same drivers so the equalization curve for the speakers should be the same) but this is a very nice and clean looking mod!

Well, that's pretty much a given at this point! The internal layout of the Quicksilver (specifically the "shelf" in the middle of the case, and the exhaust fan cage) are much nicer to work around modern components than the ones in the Sawtooth. I'd be switching around a lot of internal parts...

Very nice work! I love how clean this mod is and the attention to detail with small things like the cable routing... makes a huge difference. Does the graphics card work properly even with the PCIe extension cable? I remember reading something about the latency causing issues for graphics...

Don't give up just yet! You shouldn't have any problem aligning the parts, but from your picture it looks like the cutout you made for the I/O shield is way too far away from the first expansion slot. That's the whole reason the pillar on the back has to come out in the first place... the edge...

Thanks for the quick responses guys. Hibernate file seemed like a good call, but didn't seem to resolve it. There's plenty of disk space for the file and the hibernate mode was already set to 0 (it's a desktop, so this is standard). Still pondering what to try next.
