I have not upgraded yet, did you manage to get your board working on HS or Mojave?

Yes I formatted the disk as JHFS+ and APFS, didn't matter - still saw the same errors.

I think what is happening is during the initial first boot of the installer, it begins installing and shows approximately 2 minutes remaining then the system reboots. I do not believe it has completed the initial install steps so it must be crashing but I have been unable to notice any verbose...

You have to make sure to select the correct profile in the sound device script. It defaults to 2 which is wrong, it should be 1

No idea about the 7700k, I have to assume that's the root of your problem.
