Hi there @loki2099 sorry to revive this old thread but I've been running into this same issue more and more frequently since the update to Mojave/Catalina so was hoping to find a solution.
Have you ever found a fix for this?
This freeze/crash occurs whenever I'm using an external USB type C...
Hello again @pastrychef
I think I've narrowed down the External USB SSD freezing issue. It is isolated to this USB-C drive only. All other USB drives works fine and tested using all USB ports. This USB-c drive (SanDisk Extreme SSD 2TB USB 3 Gen 2) works fine with a real Mac- tested on MBP with...
Running Heaven benchmark now, let's see if that throws any errors.
Could it be USB ports related? this freeze/crash is consistent and repeatable with the external SSD (Sandisk extreme 2TB) tried with different cables and it's always within minutes of looking in the folders or copying files...
Thanks! Just checked all drives with disk utility - first aid and found no issues. Also tested on a MBP with the same transfer & drives and it was completed fine.
Any ideas on how to check my vega?
Hi again @pastrychef after fixing the update I've experiencing more crashes and freezes than Mojave.
Currently at 10.15.4 and clover 5107
Attached are a couple of the crash logs.
Most recent one is when copying files between two external USB drives.
Any ideas what might be the issue?
@pastrychef
So after updating to 10.15.4 (19E266) and Clover r5107, updated all kext as your EFI folder, same profile as before - iMacPro1,1
The system keeps on rebooting after just a few minutes of browsing in Chrome. Very strange, maybe due to graphics issue? I see that you have enabled iGPU...
OK. I'VE managed to get back in order!
And for anyone else running into the same issue with Clover r5108:
Boot with an UniBeast made Clover bootable USB and Pastrychef's latest EFI folder.
Now downgraded to Clover r5107, mount EFI and install r5107, then it should boot back into your OS drive...
Sorry I'm not sure how to correctly load the EFI folder onto the USB.
Say if the Clover USB is created with r5107, do I just copy & replace everything in the the root EFI folder?
And then boot via BIOS to USB? Clover bootloader is not picking up the USB drive but it shows up in BIOS.
Thanks
Thanks for the speedy reply!
What do you see?
Black screen after selecting the OS (current Mojave)
Are you able to get to the Clover boot menu?
Yes, showing r5108
Does macOS even start to load?
I don't think so, no error or glitches,
When does the screen go blank?
After selecting the OS...
Again, seeking help from @pastrychef for my screwup, or anyone else who might have had the same issue.
My build is near identical to this golden build.
I'm trying to upgrade to Catalina from Mojave 10.14.6.
Updated Clover to r5108 from r5103.
Now clover bootloader shows my macOS drive but can't...
Hi there, I'm having a similar issue after updating to clover r5108 from r5103, now the clover bootloader shows my OS but can't boot into it - blank screen.
How do I install this rollback r5107 from my current state?
Thanks!
Managed to solve this, so for anyone who might run into the same issue:
- Create USB bootable Mojave with Unibeast
- Boot into USB from bios/start boot options (not clover boot options)
- It should help boot into the existing Mojave drive.
- Update Clover and Kexts in Library/Extensions and...
Hi guys, I'm having a similar issue with updating to 10.14.5 from 10.14.3 without updating clover (from 4844)
Update seem to have finished(unsure, but now boots into logo and progress bar then gets stuck with purple lines.
I can still get into the recovery drive & windows drive(dual boot from...
