    Transplant Approach?

It worked! I went through a clean 10.8-->10.9 install using my GA-Z87X-UD4H PC as a surrogate system. I then ran MultiBeast and installed the DSDT for the target PC (GA-H55-USB3). Once done I shutdown, transplanted and booted successfully and got wired keyboard and mouse to login. So I...

    Transplant Approach?

I have previously tried in failure to get an old PC up and running on OS X. It is based on a Gigabyte GA-H55-USB3 motherboard with an Intel Core i3 processor installed and an HD6670 graphics card. When Apple used this processor they used a different graphics series and I was well aware of the...

Time Machine Observation 10.8 to 10.9

How does trying another software explain the OS X upgrade disappearance of past Time Machine backups?

Time Machine Observation 10.8 to 10.9

OK, been a little busy but I finally got around to installing 10.9 over the 10.8 install. Everything went splendid and this morning I decided to run Time machine, which I had setup and running under 10.8. The strange thing was Time machine was acting like this was the first time it was running...

Updating from Mountain Lion to Mavericks on my hackintosh? (see parts) working?

I guess I was testing the Upgrade as a function of Install OS X Mavericks (dmg). Being that I have only got a week or two under my Hackintosh belt for life's experiences, I presume that the way it can AND should be done is to simply target the original ML SSD and Mavericks will get...

Updating from Mountain Lion to Mavericks on my hackintosh? (see parts) working?

I followed the guide for an upgrade and it didn't work. I was still on 10.8.5 ML.

Making assumptions on ML upgrade to Mavericks

This morning I managed to grab a spare drive and install Mavericks successfully using the tonymacx86 10.9 guide. Now I wanted to test something else on this spare drive, which was to explore the upgrade option from 10.8 to 10.9 for an existing ML environment. Bare in mind I am doing this in...

Post Mavericks install can't run MultiBeast

BTW, I had Internet access up until I ran MB. I hadn't selected the ethernet driver in MB because I thought a driver was already loaded (re: it worked). I went back an re-ran MB a second time, this time including the driver and all was peaceful in the forest.

Post Mavericks install can't run MultiBeast

Thanks trs96. That change has been made. I also found THIS on the Internet.

Post Mavericks install can't run MultiBeast

Morning All, I disconnected my W7/ML drives and connected a HDD I wasn't using. I prepared a Mavericks UniBeast USB thumb drive and installed Mavericks successful. But I am now at the stage to where I should be running MultiBeast, per the guild, but OSX isn't allowing me to run MB because it...

    Re-running MultiBeast consequences (bootloader)

baller1308, many thanks for letting me know about selecting the System Reserved option from Chimera. I did this and W7 booted just fine. Saved me from doing anything else. Much obliged.

    Re-running MultiBeast consequences (bootloader)

Chimera is, or rather was and still is, installed. Previously I only noticed the one option under it and that was for Mountain Lion. During the Chimera bootloader phase if I strike the SPACEBAR I get four options: Mountain Lion, System Reserved (W7), Windows 7, and NTBK. System Reserved and...

    Re-running MultiBeast consequences (bootloader)

I consider my Hackintosh an experiment. For that reason alone I wouldn't want to depend on it to boot something that isn't an experiment. BTW, I have no idea how long this experiment will run--maybe forever. Still, I was hoping for a solution to undo what has been done. Thanks anyway. TGIF!

    Re-running MultiBeast consequences (bootloader)

Normally when I play around with other operating systems I usually segregate them to their own disks and when installing them isolate them from disks native operating systems on them. I do not like bootloaders. Recently I successfully installed OSX 10.8.5 to a SSD. During the install, the SSD...

Mac App store not showing the Download Button/ Failing to download Mtn. Lion

Also keep in mind if you have a partial download then you may want to remove it from your Mac first before attempting to download it again. Usually it will appear in the Applications folder, but even if you Move to Trash it will still be residing in the trash and any subsequent downloads will...
