    macOS 11.5.1 Update

Updated Dell Optiplex 7010, i7-2600 Sandybridge with NVIDIA GT710 Kepler GPU with Opencore 0.6.4 30mins, 3 restarts and done. Don't forget to choose pre-boot the first restart and the rest is automatic. No issues with sound, sleep, Ethernet and USBs still correctly mapped. This 10 year old...

    macOS 11.3 Update

Everything working (sleep, USBs, App store, media, WiFi, AirDrop). Still haven't mapped USBs from 2.0 to 3.0 but it won't change my life either. Upgraded from OpenCore 0.6.4 using SMBios 15,1. Did the usual 3 no. re-boots, 21 mins, and voila. Has anyone done a lower spec build than my...

macOS Big Sur Does NOT Boot with iMac14,2 System Definition

UEFI boot. I also used native APFS file system as Big Sur has moved on from HFS+. Good luck. It is a very similar config.

Post the EFI folder. You have the same config as my work computer. I always wanted a mac at work.

[Guide] Install Big Sur on the Dell Optiplex 9010 with OpenCore

I also have the Dell 7010 but with i7-2600 Sandy Bridge, so had to buy a GT710 to go with it. If you go with this combo, it should work with any of the LGA1155 socket CPUs. UEFI, GPT and APFS. Opencore 0.6.4 and SMBios 15,1 Audio, USB, Sleep and Ethernet all working. I don't use the WiFi so...

    El Cheapo Dell 790 & 7010, NVidia GT710, Opencore 0.6.4 Big Sur

Here's the full EFI folder. Sound, USB, Sleep and Intel Mausi Ethernet all working. The legendary work-horse, i7-2600 Sandy Bridge is NOT DEAD YET! GeekBench scores are 2800s multi-core, and this rock bottom spec cost under USD100 bucks!

Install Big Sur or Catalina on a i7 2600k Asus motherboard possible?

USB, Sleep, Audio and Intel Mausi Ethernet all working. Don't forget for older MBs with UEFI 1.0, you need to reformat the EFI to FAT16/32. APFS necessitates the use of GPT partition so old MBs can't read the EFI partition.

11.2 OC 0.6.6 Intel Wifi not working

I have the same problem. Was working with Catalina, then dropped in Big Sur. I am not bothered to buy a new WiFi card so just using Ethernet.

    Big Sur install guide?

Carbon Copy Cloner does work BTW. I just made a clone last week. The only stipulation is you put the clone back on the same computer as Big Sur has cryptographic signature (I presume, tied to your motherboard). It is alsways a good idea to make a clone before you do an update/upgrade in case...

USB and Ethernet is not working in Bigsur 11.1

There is absolutely no hope for PS2 keyboard. That has not been supported on iMac for decades. Best get a cheap USB or Bluetooth keyboard.

USB and Ethernet is not working in Bigsur 11.1

All. Try this EFI. Now set up for 11.2.1. USB, Audio and Intel Mausi Ethernet all working.

    El Cheapo Dell 790 & 7010, NVidia GT710, Opencore 0.6.4 Big Sur

For those with a Dell Optiplex 7010 i3,i5,i7 lying about, I got it to work with Opencore 0.6.4 and an SMBios 15,1. I even did a bit of playing around and got it to work on my Dell 790. This must be done in UEFI mode. Don't forget for the older Dells and HPs, the UEFI is the half-baked UEFI 1.0...

USB and Ethernet is not working in Bigsur 11.1

Originally my ethernet didn't work. In the end I made a dummy EFI file using OC-Gen X for my built-in ethernet, then cut and pasted the generated text for the ethernet section of the config.plist file. Now I just need to fix the USB3.0 and I'm all done.

Install Big Sur or Catalina on a i7 2600k Asus motherboard possible?

I second all this. It is possible using Opencore 0.6.4 My build was i7-2600 with an NVidia GT710 running SMBios 15,1

macOS Big Sur Does NOT Boot with iMac14,2 System Definition

Try SMBios iMac 15,1 It works on a Dell 7010, i7-2600 (it fit in the LG1155 slot!) Sandy bridge with NVIDIA GT710. It's guaranteed, the cheapest Big Sur build available.
